We are doing the 7 night Mediterranean cruise from Barcelona in a few months. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. This will be our first overseas cruise. My question is when booking an excursion is it 90 days from their time zone or 90 days from mine. I thought I saw on a DCL show where they were talking about it. I thought I heard them say it was based on their time zone. Any information that you could give us would be greatly appreciated because we don’t want to miss out on the good part. Excursions.

On the date your booking date opens (which should be listed in the Disney Cruise app and website), you can start booking just after midnight Eastern time. The location of the cruise doesn't matter -- booking is based on the DCL office time in Florida.

Be aware that some of the excursions listed on the DCL website port excursions pages may not be offered on your cruise, so it's a good idea to have back-ups in case your first choice isn't available. You can also book something and then change your mind up to a few days before sailing with no penalty (though of course, it's best to cancel as soon as you're sure you don't want an excursion, so others can book it). If something you want isn't available, you may be able to find a private company doing a similar excursion.

I recommend looking at the list of excursions at each port listed on the DCL website to and having 2-3 options picked out in order of your favorites for each port. It is also worth the extra effort to see how far away the place you are going to is away from the port. Some can be 2 hours away by bus so you will spend 4 hours of your time just trying to get to a place and have only a short time there. I also look on Viator and get your guide for similar tours to see the reviews of the places. If you have a ton of time in port you could always book a private tour through them too. We did this for our Reykjavik stop since it was 13 hours in port and the ice cave we went to was natural vs being manmade where Disney went. Keep that list handy when your booking window opens so you can quickly select the excursions without having to read through all the descriptions and get them before they sell out.
