booking-how far from arrival date?

We are wanting to surprise our 2 dd's with trip to WDW. But, here's my problem...we won't have the money to book until 7 wks before the date we were looking at for arrival. How closely have you booked a WDW trip and is this a big issue? Thanks !

We've booked a last minute trip about a month before we left with no problems. It was in January, and we had no problems getting a couple of dining reservations either. Although, you don't have to have your trip booked to go ahead and make dining reservations. I'm not saying you should put your vacation on a credit card, but if you know you are going to go and want to go ahead and book, have you looked into the Disney visa? You can finance/charge your Disney vacation with no interest for 6 months. YOu could just charge the $200 to book your vacation, and then 7 weeks out pay off your trip.

Book Room Only (rather than a package) and you only have to pay for one night before you arrive. I believe you have to do it by calling 407-W-Disney, you cannot do it online.

You didn't say when you want to travel, or how picky you are about which hotel you want. Some times are much busier than others and thus harder to book.
