Booking honeymoon... how does that work with the room block/discount?

Hi everyone!

I was wondering how to go about booking our honeymoon stay. I would like to use a TA, but I'm not sure how that fits in with the room block and wedding discount. Do I go ahead and have my TA book our honeymoon stay, and then pass on the reservation numbers (plural because we're planning to stay at more than one resort) to the coordinator? Does the discount get applied at that point? Will my credit card be refunded the discount amount?

You can use a TA but your guests will not receive the full wedding discount. Disney will deduct 10% of the discount to cover the agents 10% comission. So if your guests were supposed to receive a 15% discount on a moderate resort they will only receive a 5% discount.They also have to book directly with the TA and can not use your wedding website or call in the reservation.

If you book your honeymoon room before your room block is complete you have to cancel and re book in order to receive the discount, they can not just refund the difference.

It sounds like the best way to go is to WAIT for my room block to be completed, and then do it myself!

Yes, I would wait for the room block even though it is hard and you want to plan. I am a TA so that is why I first attempted to do the rooms myself. After moving our wedding date up I didn't want the added stress of babysitting everyone so when I re did my room block it was very different.
