Booking HiltonHead and Vero for summer?

Someone set me straight on facts. How hard would it be to book 3 rooms during the summer at these resorts? I'd need two 2bedrooms and a studio for 5 days. (One an HA room with roll-in shower.)

I would say that booking HH would be a bit tougher than booking Vero during the summer months...thats one of the reasons i bought at HH....although this summer im still on the waitlist for Vero for a 2 BR...depends on what you want...i know at HH most of the rooms are 2BR I believe

I can help you out as far as Vero Beach is concerned. While for Florida residents, it is an "off" season, for everyone else it is prime time. If you don't own there, you do really need to call at 7 mos. for summer ressies. The resort is small, and 2 bdrms. are in high demand. I think its a little easier to get OVIR's past the 7 mos., but I would even call day by day at 7 mos. for your 2 bedrm.

Many have reported success getting villas at both resorts by calling right at 7 months and by using the waitlist.

Your challenge at HH will be the number of rooms you want/need. There are only 21 Studios at the resort and only 16 of those have elevator access with an even smaller number being HCA. There are no accessible dedicated 2BRs at the resort - you would need to reserve one of the HCA lockoff 2BRs (using one of the 21 1BRs and it's adjoining Studio).

It can certainly be done if you are flexible with your dates and persistent about calling and using the waitlist - at either resort.

Others have given good advice. My input is as follows:

Vero - Two bedrooms are hard to get in the summer. I own here so I never have a problem luckily. I have a friend who loves Vero, doesn't own there, and is thinking of buying as he has been shut out the past two summers using points as he couldn't get a two bedroom in the July timeframe.

HH - We were able to book a two bedroom at the seven month window last summer. We called day by day right at the seven month window. We went in early June which I think helped as the resort wasn't fully packed yet.
