booking great flight deals...

We got home from our disneyland holiday just last week. We had covermore insurance.......thank god. We spent three days and nights in the children's hospital with our 2 1/2 year old son in critical care on an iv drip. Add to that an ambulance transfer as well, and I can only imagine what the medical bill would have been. Covermore were fantastic. They kept in contact with us constantly and also kept in discussions with the hospitals administration, and made our stay at hospital as stress free as possible. They covered all of the medical bills and we were not out of pocket at all. Really couldn't fault them, and would definitely use them again!

Gosh, that is intense and scary. I'm pleased you still got to enjoy the end of your holiday.

if we leave LA on say the 10th but with time difference dont land until the 12th, I'm assuming we cover until the 12th?

Yes. We left LAX on the 20th October, arriving in Bne on the 22nd. We had cover until the 22nd.

Booking the plane tickets is usually one of the first things I do for our trips, and I try and pay for the travel insurance on the same day, or at least within a day or two. After that, all accommodation, entertainment, etc is also covered by the policy.

I've been keeping my eye out for flights for next Oct-Nov. SYD-LA with stops in HNL, I don't mind to break the trip and stop both ways at Aulani. I originally was counting on Jetstar Hawaii return, then local flights to LA but now since I have been stalking Hawaiian Airlines site, I see it is quite possible to do SYD-LA return with stops in HNL for just under $1400 going by looking at other non-peak periods, and then the kids get 25% off, plus loads of luggage allowance. I can't wait to book my trip :yay:

My goodness Meagus! I'm so glad your little boy is ok! What a dreadful way to start your trip :(
With 4 kids, although they are very healthy, it's very possible we will need some sort of medical help. Ear infections time themselves very badly with my kids!
Meemoo, stopping in Hawaii sounds like a good way to break up the trip. When we were first planning our trip we had Hawaii pencilled in but have since found so many things/places that we wanted to do on this trip in the US that we have had to cut it out. Def. on our next time list.
Will be researching our insurance alot more, thanks for the advice!
