Booking FP+ when you may have to change your reservation

We booked a room at Riverside last fall for our trip the end of March. We are currently three days out from making our FP+ reservations. Since making our reservation, I quit my job so we are considering staying off site to save money but haven't made a final decision. It's not a huge difference but it would save money that could be applied to food, etc. My question is if we make our FP+ reservations and then decide to stay offsite will we loose all of our FP+ reservations and have to start over making them? I'm trying to decide if it is worth making them at 60 days or if we should just wait until we have decided for sure where we will stay.

Make them when your 60 day window opens. As long as you have tickets linked to everyone in MDE, changing to offsite won't matter.

You can keep the onsite reservation until day 30 and then Cancel it at that time. Your FPs remain intact.
