Booking FP+ when going to a park and a party on the same day

I am asking for my dad...I had my hunches but have never gone to a party so wasn't positive.
If they have both park tickets and party tickets (both purchased and assigned to MDE) and are planning to visit Epcot during the day and do the party at night, they can't book FP+ for both correct? I assumed it worked the same as Hoppers that you only get 3 total, but wanted to be sure.

My guess (which could be incorrect) based on what I have gathered from other posts was if they had assigned their party tickets to a dummy account, they could've done it, but since it has been assigned to their main MDE already they can't?

Also, random other question, I always thought Illuminations is every night, but is this not true? He is disappointed he is missing it because it isn't assigned on their night, but I thought it was a nightly thing. They are going December 14-21 if that helps.

1. Correct. Limit is 3 advance-booked FP+ per day, per guest.
2. Illuminations is one of THE most reliable shows. It runs virtually every night.
If it's not listed yet, it likely will be added as the dates get closer.
On those dates, Illuminations starts at 9:30PM, nightly.

1. Correct. 3 advanced FP+ per day. They can get a 4th and beyond after they've used the first 3 but no they cannot book 6 in advance just because they have a regular ticket and party ticket for that day.
2. Correct if they had made a dummy account they could have worked the system but they are already assigned in their real account now so they can't.
3. Not sure where you/he is coming up with Illuminations is not happening during his trip. It's on the WDW calendar for 9:30pm every day between the 14th and 21st of December.

Illuminations DOES HAPPEN EVERY NIGHT......BUT........If he is hopping over to Magic Kingdom for the party, he will miss it. Maybe this is what he means?

No, he has 2 epcot days but the one he isn't going to the party he said it wasn't listed. Thanks so much for all your replies!
