Dont worry about not understanding it - it is confusing. there are 3 half board options - standard, plus and premium. You get a voucher for each day which can be used for lunch or dinner and is worth a certain amount. there is a list of restaurants somewhere which accepts each one and the voucher can be exchanged her for a full meal (although it may be from a limited menu) or you can use it to part pay for meals in other restaurants or from the full menu if only offered a limited one.
HB Plus is worth €25

Not sure if this has helped or confused you more

HB+ is really great.

Basically your voucher can be exchanged in certain table service restaurants in the parks, hotels and village for either 3 courses from a set menu, or a buffet (at lucky nugget, SL, NPB etc.) and a drink. OR if you dont like whats on the set menu, or want to eat somewhere not on the voucher (except ludwigs, PH or Rainforest Cafe) then each voucher is 25E off the bill.

In Walts for example jack had the set HB+ menu meal, but I didn't fancy any of the options so had starter and main, and had to pay like 3Euro extra at the end! A bargain!

Although the guilt of feeling like I was getting a meal for £2.50 made me tip quite big, lol.

yea we deffintly thin it will be better we went quiet over the top when we went in august we ate in steakhouse and blue lagoon and didnt just have something small to eat in blue lagoon i couldnt resist the lobster

can i trade in our half board plus to eat in inventions ? want to eat out side of the park more as park shuts early in january

I would love to go half board plus, even saved the money haha! But my husband says its not worth it??? I'm in 2 minds over it all!!:confused3

If yo only ever eat counter service then its probably not worth it. But if you want to eat at table places then it is 100% worth it!!

I'll always do it from now on!! :)

I think thats what he is thinking because its always counter service we go, always scared to go else where!:rotfl: It sounds great, I will have to convince him!!...what would you say an ok tip would be??? do you work it out as a percentage? ie 10% or 20%?

Sorry another question, see if you go to lucky nugget can you use it for a character meal or do you have to pay more and for January does that have to be reserved?

thank you for your help :)

Well, our bill was always like 52E for the two of us. SO 5E would be fine. But then I'd feel so guilty about 'only' having to pay 2E, so I put like 10E down. Big tip but when you've paid months before it feels like a free meal!!

What puts me off though is if they are closed early and I don't know!!:rotfl: Do you have to reserve places in January or is it worth 'winging' it?

I'm going at the end of Jan. And wont be booking anything in advance as I think its going to be super quiet. Will just go into City Hall in the morning, or the days we want to eat at Inventions/CG I'll ask at breakfast time about reservations.

If we do Walts on our first day again (depends if my folks come out for a day trip with us-as if they are only in the parks for 6 hours its not fair for us to spend 2 of them eating!) then I'll pop in on my way down mainstreet! :-)
