I was wondering has anyone booked flights via the Disney Vacation Club? I am going down to Disney first week in July 2007. I will be flying from NY and most airports have direct flights.

I am just wondering has anyone found that DVC might be able to get cheaper flights?

from what I understand , you are better off looking for inexpensive flights on your own. DVC gives you the rate that pops up when they log in at that time. Many times the airlines will run specials after you have already booked through with DVC. You can do better on your own. Jetblue usually is pretty good from NY as well as Southwest(if you are near the island).

I used Member services once. They were the same as the airline price. They were able to tell me how full the plane was so I knew to book quickly.

I use Spirit or Northwest out of Detroit. I like NWA for short trips(more flight selection). I am a frequent flier with both,so I get notice of speicals and NWA guarantees the lowest price on their website. Southwest just put in a N/S from DTW to MCO.

I do it myself as I like to look at all options and I don't feel you can do that over the phone(unlike in the old days when I dealt with my long standing travel agent who knew me).

My advice as a frequent flyer is to check the smaller airlines like Southwest, Jet Blue and then try Orbitz, travelosity expedia to find which airlines are providing the price and schedule you want. If its American go on their website and look for the best deals. You can see how full the plane is by putting a reservation on hold and looking at seat selections available. Putting a reservation on hold is not the same as purchasing and if you take no further action the request will expire harmlessly. I like to go non stop only so Southwest is my only option from Providence. I put myself on their system and book immediately at the opening of the booking window.

Thank you all... basically most of you are saying whatI already thought anyway.. but figured I would ask..

My assumption is book with Southwest... since they are cheaper.. and also they fly out of islip which in very close to my house:banana:
