Booking Disney receptions for non-DFTW brides?

I am going to be a S/D bride, but we are looking into having a lunch reception at one of the Boardwalk area resorts.

I think I asked this a while ago, but I can't find the thread.

How do I do this? Who do I contact? I have the menu info from magicalkingdoms.com, but the menus are based on Wishes wedding packages.

Can I get the same menu's as listed?

In the past Disney has not let you book a private function for a wedding reception unless you were having a Disney Fairy Tale Wedding, and people who called Group Sales/Disney Catered Events were either transfered over to DFTW or practically hung-up on.

However, Disney seems to be more and more open to planning these kinds of events these days, so it sure can't hurt to try calling Disney Catering and Convention Services at 407-828-3200. The only requirement is that you be staying at a Disney-owned hotel.

You would have access to any menus that a DFTW or other catered event would, although the ones on Magical Kingdoms may not be up to date.
