Booking CRT before you have DDP?

Our family is thinking about trying for an ADR at CRT in September when the 180-day mark comes. From my understanding there is some sort of deposit or something that must be paid to hold this reservation. Now, our plan is that the period we will be traveling will later be designated a free-DDP period, so we would switch our resort booking to include that. Assuming that happens, we're wanting to use the 2 TS credits for the CRT meal. Does anyone know how this works, as we would have already paid a deposit for this meal, but with the addition of the DDP, our meal would be paid for in that manner?

TIA

When I booked our ADR for California Grill the CM asked for a credit card to hold the reservation. If you do not show up for your reservation they will apply a charge. I think it was something like $50.

Also, if you need to cancel you may up to 24 hrs before and there will be no charge. I hope this makes since.

Thank you. I was under the impression that at the time you made the ADR you were actually being charged immediately. This sounds like what hotels generally do, and take your credit card info, but don't actually charge you until the day of your arrival (or charge you if you don't show and don't cancel).

Thanks.
