Booking Bonnet Creek

I am very close to booking Wydham Bonnet Creek through Ken Price...the rate he quoted us is amazing and I have heard great things about it.
I was talking to my mom about it and now she has me nervous to book with him...she said she finds it suspicious that the rate he gave and the online booking rate is so different...can anyone help make me feel better about this! anyone booked with him or suggestions of who to book with!

We are booked with Ken for November and I am a cynic. If you are comparing the rates between Wyndham and Ken, the difference is dramatic. Ken is an owner and rents out his points. If Wyndham is offering a deal to owners, Ken is able to book with fewer points which makes it cheaper to rent from him. Wyndham may not offer specials to the general public, because it might make the property appear to be unpopular to prospective owners.

If you are getting a last minute deal, the quoted rate may be cheaper than Ken's usual great discount due to a cancellation. I am a strong advocate of "Buyer Beware" and I feel comfortable with booking with Ken. The transaction requires trust on both parts and if he wasn't trustworthy, we would have heard grumblings.

Just out of curiousity what price is he offering and for what dates? I'm holding out to book BC for an early December trip and am curious what prices he is offering and how far out he starts offering specials.

I booked with Ken Price last February, and he is wonderful to deal with. He was honest, and was very informative, and great to talk to. You can't go wrong booking with him. He was wonderful!

We used Ken last January and he bent over backwards to get us the best rate, room, everything. I was a cynic, but I don't think I could ever stay anywhere else again. He even called once we checked in to ensure we were happy.

There's a five-page BC thread on this board in which many people recommend Ken Price. You might take a look at what's said about him there. We haven't used him before, but are considering it for our Nov. trip. I sent an email to him and within a day he called and sent an email to discuss our needs! What service!

I think good rates are pretty common right now, so I wouldn't look at Ken's as suspect, at all. I contacted Windsor Hills through a central website. Out of 90-some owner responses (!), more than half are quoting discounts - lower rates, waiving pool heat fees, cleaning fees, etc.

This is very common when renting from a timeshare owner vs. renting from the developer/management company. Compare some DVC point rental prices to booking through Disney, or from-owner prices at the Orlando Marriotts vs. booking via marriott.com.

I haven't used him yet, but I expect to do so in the future. Prices at Orlando properties can very greatly. I rented a 2Br/2Ba at Cypress Pointe Grande Villa the week before Christmas a couple of years ago for $300. I had Bonnet Creek for a week last Christmas for about $500. I got both of those deals on ebay.

I would book with him in a heartbeat (and I've booked many, many properties over the years)!

We just got back from Bonnet Creek. We booked with Ken from Aug. 16 through 26. He was the best! I totally trust him, but I did to begin with because of all the positive reviews on DISboards. I feel like I've known him a very long time. I will be renting from him again.
