June / July --- With the addition of SSR, I have been reading that it may get harder to book BCV at the 7 month window. What about June or July? Are there any suggestions for booking at the 7 month window --- is there a need to call as soon as DVC opens that morning? What are my chances of getting through to DVC on that given morning at the 7 month window? Are the lines typically busy? I am most concerned about June and July. And, my hopes are that demand will not be as high as people try to avoid the hot summers. But, you never know, especially when it comes to BCV. Thoughts?

If you're somewhat flexible with dates, I really don't think it will be a problem. I wouldn't wait too much past the 7 month mark though, probably call the first day your window opens and ask how it looks for the dates you want and they'll let you know if you should do a day by day booking. We have done BCV 3 times in June, twice at the 7 month mark, the only time I did the 11 month was for a dedicated 2 br with 2 queens...now granted this was before SSR was up and running so you never know. Best of luck.

The construction of SSR should have no effect on the number of rooms available at BCV at the 7 month window,, since SSR has no effect on bookings at BCV for months 11-7. What will probably increase is the number of people attempting to make reservations when the 7 month window begins. With that in mind, you might have to be more careful about calling first thing in the morning and booking day-by-day.

While technically correct, it could have a minor effect in that more BCV owners may take advantage of the 11 month window, knowing that there is more competition after 7 months and they can't afford to wait.

dizplanner-You are correct! I just booked BCV(I own points there) for FEB.19,21,22,23( waitlisted for 20th) because we are now almost 7 months out and this is Pres.Day Week.I am not positive that we will keep the res.but if we do go this is my kids FAVORITE DVC-Resort! Joan

I'd go a step further and say that more people are clammoring for BCV contracts so they can get the 11 month booking advantage....

we just signed up with dvc(closing in august) and we booked a 1 bedroom at the BCV for sept 5-11 so it seems like its possible to get dates at the smaller resorts with little time. i think when it comes down to peak time and holidays that's when you encounter difficulties and wait lists.
DH and i like to travel to disney when the parks are not too crowded usually sept after labor is best for us. Who knows things may change when our little one (4 months) hits school.

I'm looking for a 1-br at BCV for Mar 19-24 (DD's spring break). We own at HH, so I'll be calling at 7 months. Do you advise the day-by-day plan of attack for making the ressie? I've never done it day-by-day before, so please explain it to me like I'm a 5-year-old. Here's what I'm assuming: 7 months before Mar 19, I call and make a 1-night ressie. The next day, I ask to add Mar 20 on. I do Mar 21 the day after that and so on until I have all the days I need. Is that correct?

If I can't get a certain day, should I waitlist for it? Or do I say "scratch it" at that point and then change the whole ressie to a different resort? We'd be happy anywhere, just wanted BCV this time because it's the one we haven't stayed at yet (although we did stay at BC years ago).

August 20th is a Saturday, so you can't call then, but call on August 22nd, and see about getting March 19,20,21st. Tell MS that you will continue to call until you have all of your days. MS may tell you about the availablility during your requested dates. Maybe you'll have to make the full ressie at another resort, and it's up to you to decide to wait list. But here's some pixie dust and hope that you'll get it when you call! :wizard:

We were able to book for NYE weekend this year at BCV at the 7 month window and we did book day by day without any problems. We also booked BCV for September following the Member Cruise and we did that at 60 days out without issue as well. (note booked studios for both)

Thanks Bobbi! I didn't even think about the weekend coming into play in all this. Thanks so much for thinking it through for me!

September and weekends? I would have thought those would be the first to go. :rotfl:
