I have recently found out that my closing at BWV has been moved out a few weeks, not happy. My plan was to book out with a BWV and hopefully a nice view of EPCOT right at the eleventh month window. Now that it's been moved out a few weeks it may be closer to ten and a half months out for the time when I can book. It would be about a year from now, April 2009. Does anyone know if getting a BWV, hopefully a nice EPCOT view, is a big issue if I can't book until ten and a half months out? Thanks.

I doubt you'll have trouble getting the BW view category for next April at 10.5 months. People don't do day-by-day bookings year round and even with Spring Break and Easter, that isn't a peak travel period among DVC members.

As far as getting "a nice view of Epcot", remember that views, floors, locations, etc are just requests. You can book the "Preferred BoardWalk View" category, but the exact location / quality of the room won't be determined until you arrive.

Good luck!

Thanks, I appreciate your responding. It's good to hear. I just have this whole picture of how I want my first trip "Home" to look and feel. The fact that Disney is the one's that are holding this whole thing up "estoppels" is grinding a little.

I will have to respectfully disagree with Tim. I did day-by-day booking last year at 11 mos.for this April trip. April is extrememly popular, BWV has been totally booked for April for some time now. Every week in April is someone's spring break. And Easter is in April next year. Definitely, book day-by-day at 11 mos.when you can. Also, boardwalk view and standard view are specific booking catgories. If you request these at the time of booking, you will be guaranteed these if available. :wizard:

Well, that's depressing.

But did thousands of other BWV owners do the same thing? I doubt it.

I'm sure that's true. The 7-month mark for April '08 is long since passed and it's not uncommon for the smaller resorts to fill up after that point.

Some people do day-by-day reservations all the time to give them comfort but it's rarely necessary.

In early-December...it's necessary. To get Standard View or BW View during Food & Wine fest...it may be necessary but I'm sure there are still people booking their entire stay in one call a week or two later who have no trouble.

Other times of the year, the sooner you call the better. But I think it's wrong to assume that people are getting shut-out because they didn't call day-by-day for other periods. If you can show me any posts or other evidence from May/June '07 from people reporting that they couldn't get a room for April '08, I'll take back every word. :goodvibes

Thanks for asking Ed, running into the same issue with booking for next year and the estoppels wait is driving me nuts. We would be looking for late March, so .....

See you back on the ROFR thread.

Here is a good thread that reflects a poll of the various spring break dates. This will give you a good idea of the popularity of certain weeks.

Thanks, well the somewhat good news for me is that here in Massachusetts our kids spring break coincides with Patriots day so it's the week after Easter week which seems to be the more popular week. At least according to the poll. I still have hope, I guess.

Thank you very much, I needed that positive post! Thanks.

Hey, HolidayRoad!
Just wanted to wish you luck on your reservation. We are also BWV members, and I would call day-by-day just to be on the safe side. I am finding that it is, indeed, becoming more common to have to waitlist for a BW view room if I don't call right at 11 months. It is worth the extra trouble for me to call day-by-day because I do so love the BW view. JMHO. Let us know how you come out!

I have no problem calling day to day, I just need to close on my contract and get into the system. I was supposed to close on April 18th but now the estopple is getting pushed off and pushed off which is moving it past the eleven month "to the day" window to make those calls. The first day I want to stay next year is April 19th in order to call in day to day I figure I have to close by May 9th since it can take 7 to 10 days to get into the system. Where I was supposed to close originally April 18 that wouldn't have been a problem now I'm being told it may not happen until the second week of May so by the time I get into the system, I'm a week behind. We'll see what happens.

Just to make you feel better ( know it is not April) but your best bud Tammy just got a BW view on the waitlist 4 weeks out. The waitlist really works so if you can not get it, make sure you waitlist.:goodvibes

Thanks dvcnewgirl, I know I'm probably over reacting to this whole thing. I mean from what I hear and tell me if I'm wrong, I should be able to at least get into a studio at BWV just maybe not the view I want at ten and a half months out and then get wait-listed for the view. Does that sound reasonable if I can't get the mouse to move this closing along?

You will surely get a studio and I'll bet that it will be exactly the view you want. Remember to post back and tell us the good news!

Although nothing is for sure, I do not think you will have any problems getting a preferred view (nobody wants to use the higher points for a non-boardwalk view) then get on the waitlist for BW view. I hoping things get moving for you guys, but since it took me 3 months from start to finish with buying resale I know it can be a LONG drawn out process..:headache:
