I am sure this has been asked many many times....but i am looking to book AKV (studio SV)for the first part of our vacation in June and was wondering how worried i should be about getting the days i want if i call at the 7 month mark. That being said should i go ahead and make reservations at my home resort (BLT)and then just switch? or can i do that?

OMG I was just going to post this exact question!!! Except I need a 2br at AKV for the last week in July! The CM I spoke with said book at BLT and hope for the best at the 7 month mark. The worst that could happen is that we stay at BLT:eek::lmao:!!

Yup, definitely book at BLT and then try to switch at the 7 month window. June and July are tougher times to get (July more than June), but there is definitely a good chance that you guys should be able to get something at AKV.

I was going to ask something like this also. As a potential buyer I am looking at all options.

My question is at the 7 months out mark how hard is it to get a week if you are flexible (say a 1 month window). I realize that if I want to stay at xmas it would be at my home resort, but I want to try BLT MKView maybe in sept-oct, is that possible or are all the MKview rooms booked at 11 months?

Just 1 of many questions.

Thanks everyone....looks like i will be calling to add on BLT if possible...wish me luck!!:goodvibes

definitely book your home resort first - just to make sure you have it. I don't know how crazy June and July are, but I just booked my home resort (AKV) at 6 months out and had no trouble.
Even if you call to find out there's nothing available, you can post here and try to trade with someone who has the resort you want.
Good Luck,
Lauren

Yes, book your home resort first but if you call right when your 7 month window opens I think you'll be able to get your Savanna view.

Since you are able to be flexible in your travel times you will be giving yourself a better chance of getting an MK view - more likely in Sept - but I also wouldn't buy counting on it.

We got a 2BR for Spring Break at the 7 month window yesterday. No problems!

Good luck to you!

I got this past June 14-20 at AKV Kidani savannah view studio at 7 months.

I've gotten a 2 bedroom Concierge at the 6 month mark once...then I had to cancel due to travel plans :sad1:

October will be our third trip to Disney as DVC members and we have yet to stay in our home resort. We go during off peak times and haven't had an issue yet.

I would be surprised if you couldn't get a savanna view at 7 months if you call at 7 months and are flexible enough to accept either building. There are more Savanna view villas at AKV than any other room type and summer months fill more slowly than some others.nn

Just call as soon as the window opens.
