Starting to price out air fare for our upcoming trip in September.

Trying sites like hotwire, travelocity & priceline. Seems like some really good prices. Has anyone had any bad experiences with going through these sites as opposed to booking directly with Southwest, or any of the other major airline?

I book directly with the airline (southwest) and then moniter the prices after booking.... I got Buffalo to Orlando @109 ea person(6) and Orlando to Buffalo at 79. per person and thought it was good prices compared to other airlines and then kept checking the flights and return flight went down to 59 per person so now we have a 120. credit with Southwest. We are DVC members so I know we will use the credit way before the expiry time.

I have booked flights twice thru expedia, never had a problem. This time I booked right thru the airlines and saved the booking fee that some of the other sites charge you.... I used Kayak to check out the rates and then went directly to Continental for our trip from Seattle to Orlando and used American Airlines for our trip back.. Got round trip for $300 canadian per person...

Have fun booking, finding the flights was very stressful for me as they kept jumping up in price... Ill prob kick myself later for booking early if they drop in the summer like some say they will but at least we are booked.

I never had problems booking online. They charge a lot for canceling/changing plans but that is the airline's problem and not the online site.

You can get $59.00 with Southwest from Buffalo or $139.20 return with taxes in September. Detroit is another option since I see you are in London since AirTran has nonstop flights for the same as out of Buffalo. Southwest doesn't seem to have any nonstop flights out of Detroit.
