booking advice help needed

Can you borrow points if you haven't used all your points and then bank some points for the same UY?

My dilemma: I want to use my DP’s to book a studio for Sat and then a 1 bed for Sun-Fri at SSR and I would only have to use 4 pts in addition to the DP’s. If I wait until 7 months before the Sunday, I’m afraid that there won’t be any 1 beds avail since it will be the start of Food & Wine, plus the DP’s have to be used before 10/3. I was planning to call on the Sat and book a 1 bed for the entire stay (using 25 of my reg pts) and then called the next day and changing the Sat to a studio instead of the 1 bed. (putting 21 reg pts back in my acct) However, since I’ve heard that we can start booking BLT on 2/8 instead of 3/1 I need to use all except 21 of my points for this UY and since this happens BEFORE I can book my SSR stay I’m not sure what to do.

I don’t supposed I can book my BLT stay with 4 pts borrowed from next yr (even though I will still have some available) and then later bank some of this years pts???

Any advice?

I'm not at all sure I understand what you're trying to do...but I do know that you can't borrow points while you still have current year points available. You have to be out of points before they'll let you borrow from next year.

Now, whether that is a resort-specific rule or not I'm not sure (i.e., if I have both SSR and BCV points, for example, I know I can borrow BCV points to book something at BCV in the 11-7 months time frame (before the SSR points are usable)...but if I'm within 7 months, I don't know if they'd require me to use my SSR points before I could borrow BCV points...

This may not be as much help as you need/want, but hope it helps at least a little bit...

Thanks - that's what I wanted to know about borrowing. I didn't think I could borrow when I still had some left. I'm just nervous that I'll have problems booking SSR at 7 months for a 1 bedroom.
