Booking ADR online

Going in November, but have never booked ADR's online, only over the phone. Should I plug in my DVC reservation number for my resort first before searching for available restaurants?

Also, when does it give you a confirmation number for each reservation made? I am going Thanksgiving week and do not really know if the extra hour to book at 180 days (6AM online vs 7AM on the phone) is worth it. Any experiences someone can share who has done this before would be very helpful. Thank you.

For the location you want to make an ADR for, click the 'Book a Reservation' button. Once the booking page loads, look for:
Resort Guests & Dining Plan
If you have a Resort reservation or would like to associate your Disney Dining Plan to your dining reservations, please retrieve your resort reservation. (Please be advised that not all restaurants participate in the Disney Dining Plan. Please check your Dining Plan information for participating restaurants.) Retrieve your reservation.
Click on the words 'Retrieve your reservation'. There you will enter the room confirmation number and a some other information. This will allow you to make up to 10 days worth of ADRs when you are 180 days out from check-in.

Once you associate your reservation for one restaurant, you don't have to do it again for that session.

You won't get any ADR confirmation numbers until you 'Check Out'.

Has anyone else reported problems doing this? I can't get anything to work. I'm on a Mac which always seems to give one issue or another w/ Disney sites. Ironic. It's not letting me input my reservation info let alone do an ADR. I should have checked on it last week when MS could have helped prior to my hail Mary the night before. :guilty:
