Ive read where some experienced "cruisers" have booked a room for the day at the Atlantis while in Nassau so they are able to use all the facilities at the hotel. If anyone has done this can you please give me your experience on it. We are going on the 4 day wonder in nov. (1st time) and wanted to visit this hotel and this sounds like a great idea. Just wondering also what time you would have to leave to get back on the ship for early dining. Did you feel like you had enough time? thanks for any info you can give me!!!!!! :wave2:

via their travel agent who just bought an atlantis all day access pass, it was a wrist band, they said it gave them access to all the facilities of the hotel as if you were a room guest without being a guest. If I remember right it was $40/pp/adult but I wasn't paying that much attention at the time. Depending on what the room rate is that might be more cost effective than actually checking into a room that you won't actually be using.

If they are selling just the wristbands without having to book a room that would be great. My past three cruises we have booked a room at the Comfort Suites right across the street from the Atlantis (and a bit less expensive usually) and you get the wristbands there also when you book a room. Many people on the boards don't think it's worth it but there are many that do -- I am one of them. We love our Atlantis day and look forward to it again on 3/21!

I booked a room at the Atlantis for our first Disney cruise. I think it was $189. and we were upgraded to the Royal Towers. Even if we weren't upgraded it would have been a bargain. We spent some time at the Straw Market and browsing the shops. Then took a taxi to the Atlantis. We used the pools, slides, beach, restaurant etc...We then went to our room, we all showered and changed. My husband and mother went to the casino for a couple of hours while my daughter and myself relaxed in the room. Of course, my daughter 13 needed her "fix" of "regular tv" so she caught up on a couple of shows she had missed while on vacation. We returned to the ship very relaxed and ready to enjoy the rest of the evening.

I would love to know if they did have an all access pass for $40. I'd love to get them.

we were talking about what everyone did that day over dinner and dh and I mentioned we'd taken a taxi over to atlantis to walk around. I remember a tablemate mentioning that they had purchased wristbands from their travel agent before the cruise and told us how much, but since we were very under impressed with Nassau as a whole dh and I had basically planned on note taking another cruise which stopped at Nassau again so I didn't take too much note of how much the band was. Ironically now we are cruising again next Jan with my family and to the Eastern Carib, not the Western as we'd planned because the Eastern ports are much more handicap accessible for someone in a motorized wheelchair (my dad is bound to a chair and will be joining us on a cruise). At this point we are 99% we'll be still going on RCCL, but DCL is our other option as we'll have my sister's family which includes a 2 year old and DCL is better equiped for the 2 year old. In either case we can't avoid Nassau...so now I wish I'd paid attention to the wrist band cost as we'll go to Atlantis. I do know that she said she had full access to all resort amnetities though, pools, casino, restaurants, places to change/shower, the acquariums, etc. She also said you can buy wristbands for the sandals resort there too, which I think is now owned by breezes or maybe its vice versa for the same full access day pass.

Atlantis is definitely a not to be missed stop on any cruise but the lowest price for a room is now $350 a night. I'm not sure if the travel agents still sell the wrist bands but I would agree that that is a great deal!!

My family and I were just at the Atlantis on the 1/25 cruise. I don't know about the $40 all access wrist band but we purchased a wrist band for $25 that gave us access to the aquairium. We spent the entire day there walking on the beach, through the aquairium and enjoying the beautiful grounds of the hotel. There are also some very nice shops. If your going to be there in Nov. it will still be nice and warm for swimming so hopefully some one can tell you more about an all access wrist band. Sorry I don't know more, my MIL went and bought us the wrist bands as the rest of us were walking through the shops.

THANKS for all the great info!! I'm for sure going to check into buying a wrist band. Thanks again

Could you let us know if you can purchase just the wristband when you find out and what the cost is? Thanks.

hopefully they still have them! I can't imagine they don't, it was Jan '03 that we were there.:sunny:

did the wristbands give you access to the pools and slides or just to the aquarium? Was it 25.00 for kids as well as adults? wasit worth the 25.00? Can we have lunch at the Atlantis w/o a wristband? Thanks for the info. going on the wonder 11 days. WE CAN'T WAIT

My family will be first time cruiser in August and have gotten such great information on this board. I booked a room at Atlantis Beach Towers last night. The total was $408 (includes tax and surcharges) for 3 adults and 2 children. When booking I asked about "Day" rooms and was told that it was the same price whether you stayed the night or not. Can't wait to go, everyone is excited. Our 2 DS's were on the Atlantis website checking out the water slides.

You do not need the wrist bands to go to the hotel and eat lunch and walk around. There is also a part of the aquairium that is free. So you could probably get by not paying anything. The part of the aquairium that you pay for is very interesting but if you are on a tight budget you may want to skip it. We thought that the $25.00 was worth paying. Children 3 and under did not have to pay. I don't know about over 3 years.

The $25.00 wrist band does not pay for pool use. ( I just got a call from my MIL and she said that you could pay $40.00 and have full use of the pools and aquairium. That would be well worth it! The pools and slides are great!)It was nice and warm the day we were there and we kind of wanted to swim but the water in the pools was still a little cold for us. (We are used to really warm water temps...we're from FL)

If you are getting your own taxi to the Atlantis, I would check with several taxi drivers first. The prices we were given ranged from $50.00 (for our group of 7) each way to $4.00 per person $2.00 for children each way! Getting back to the ship from Atlantis it was $4.00 per person. I think that is the going rate each way.

Have Fun!

So where do you purchase these $40 wristbands?? Would be a better deal if you don't have to book a room. You get full use of the pools correct?

What month were you on your cruise?? WE are going on our first disney cruise at the end of november. So I'm hoping everything will still be warm. thanks for the great info!!:wave2:

Yes, you get full use of all the facilities. The pool, slides and aquairium. We bought our wrist bands at the booths in the casino. There were several "booths" in the casino with glass sculptures on top of them. If you walk through the casino they are right in the isle.(You can see a picture of one on the website. It has a fireball on top. http://atlantis.com)

We were just there on the 1/25 cruise. It was very warm. I think close to 80 degrees. The water was cool and like I said we are used to real warm water. The ocean temp felt like very low 70's and the pools were probably the same. This temp is fine for most people, and there were lots of people swimming, just not us light weights! :sunny:

kclied67: November is still summer to us! It will still be warm and the water should be warm too!

Sorry cklied67! I didn't realize you were a fellow floridian! LOL! It should be nice and warm!

See ya 'round town!

not sure I fully understand this....Your saying that you can buy wristbands for full use of everything at the atlantis, including pools and slides at the casino for $40.00. Then why are people booking rooms at the Atlantis or Comfort Inn. We are a large group of 14, three familys broken down to 4/4/6...Of course we're the family with six, so if I did book rooms at either hotel, most likely I would have to book 2 rooms. Buying the wristbands at the casino would be much cheaper....Could someone please let me know if this is true ASAP...We're 60 days out as of tommorrow and I will need to start booking my excursions....Oh, and this is our first cruise, that's why I'm alittle baffled by all of this.
Thanks!

$40 passes might not be a terrific deal under all circumstances. For a family (or group) of 4, I could book a room right now, on their website, for $215 on the date our cruise arrives. The passes would cost $160, and do not include a room! It would make sense to get a room instead of passes if you plan to use the room in any way, especially if you can do better than $215.
