Booking a package question

Hi DISers, quick question for ya!
I ready somewhere that you can book a ressie and pay the deposit 2 weeks later.....it this true??????? I am impatient and would LOVE to book it right now but we thought we had to wait for taxes to come back.....we are booking 9 nights at POP with 7 day tickets and going to Sea World the last day (we have Busch Gardens passes so Sea World is free for us).....We are also booking the dining plan just so as much is paid for before we ever even get there in November. I know that if a deal comes out we can change our ressies and add the deal onto it if it is available at our resort or if they have rooms open for it at our resort. We just need a LOOOOOOOOOOONG time to pay the trip off! So thanks for reading this! Have a great day!

I think you only have 7 days to decide if you want the reservation or not.
It'll be put on hold for you for those 7 days but it's not considered an official booking until you pay the $200.00 deposit.

If I'm wrong, I'm sure someone will come along to correct me.

I'd wait until you have the money in your hands if you can.

I would call. I have always paid my $200. Online you have no choice. If you call, you might get a different answer, but I don't think so. I have booked over the phone several times and they always require my deposit. BUT...what could it hurt to call and ask?

I believe they will do a courtesy hold...not sure exactly for how long...maybe 7 days? I know they won't hold it for 2 weeks.

I think the courtesy hold use to be two weeks. But was lowered to one week quite awhile ago.

It was a two week courtesy hold a few years back. IIRC they changed to a 7 day hold (by phone, not online) in 2008.
