I've never booked a room using an annual pass code but I would like to in August. I already have my dvc reservations :cool1: but would like to fly in a few days earlier and spend three nights at the Pop Century. The flights are already out but I am not sure what to book because I know the codes won't be out until June. How :confused3 do people manage this situation?

I have never gotten a better deal booking more than 2 months out. prices are pretty stead from the 14+ day mark. Under 14 days they typically go up drastically until the 1 day mark to get a last minute deal (if you are lucky). I would wait until much closer to time, espically if you are counting on scoring a deal for the room. Sounds like your travel dates are flexible so I would wait. Airline rates seem to have really dropped drastically today (the 5th), I'm checking daily for our Honeymoon trip (march) with several sites (in several destinations) and they went down about $50-60 per ticket from 2 days ago. It's like playing the lottery but I always stalk prices of tickets for at least 2 weeks before booking airfare and notice trends.

Also w/ the economy being 'slow'travel is one of the hardest and fastest hit areas, look for airlines and resorts (ike Disney) to offer better deals to coax people out of thier money. Financial predictations were that after holiday travel is offically over (which was sunday) tickets would drop and specials start popping up, seemed to come true for me so far.

Totally agree, 4 - 8 weeks out is the time to buy. Earlier than that, rates are pretty static. August is not a great time to get deals on flights in my experience though. I often book packages with a code and add the flight much much later. I never expect to get amazingly cheap faires, and this year is actually worse than previous because every single airline cut routes in october/november so the prices may be good but the selection sucks. You can see the times now though, just the prices will fluctuate.

Basically, wait check out the prices once a week until about april, look to buy in mid april til june depending on how you feel about it. If you're not used to this kinda thing it may be stressful. Dont do what I did in august this year for my trip to DLR and get standby tix 3 days before ;).

Thanks for the advice, I do have a tough time waiting because I worry :scared: the prices are going to sky rocket. I usually fly Jet blue and their prices usually aren't available this early but they have started putting them out earlier. I'm going to sit tight and see what happens:)
