What is the pros and cons to this?

The airfare on Airtran is actually cheaper booking through Travelocity than going to Airtran direct.

How is customer service with Travelocity if things change?

We went through Travelocity for our November trip. Continental didn't even show the fair that Travelocity was showing (we saved over $400 per ticket). Continental did make a slight change shortly after we made the reservation. We were contacted both via phone and e-mail by Travelocity to make sure the change was acceptable.

Would have no problem making future reservations through Travelocity.

I've booked with Expedia and Orbitz before and the only con I have is that if the price goes down you will not be able to get a credit like you could if you booked with the airline directly (of course, I know nothing about Airtran and whether they do credits when the price goes down anyway).

I say go for it if its saving you money!

I have booked hotel, flights, and cars via Travelocity and have never had a problem. For most flights now they do tack on a $5 service charge but, as the OP pointed out, sometimes that is not an issue because they might have a fare that is still lower than the airline's website! I usually check fares on Travelocity(and subscribe to FARE WATCHER) and then double check the airline's website when i see a schedule or fare that suits to see which way is cheaper. My best story about booking thru Travelocity is that in 2004 I snagged two round trip tickets from Raleigh to ROME, ITALY for under $500 (TOTAL...for both...round trip!) and the seat assignments Travelocity gave us were in FIRST CLASS both ways. Amazing! ALMOSt too good to be true but it really happened. So, needless to say, even though I am sure that particular booking must have been a mistake, I lOVE Travelocity!
