Planning another trip May 2024 and wanted a 2-bedroom without renting DVC points. I thought hotels had some separate from DVC but it always says "not available"... ? Do they go fast? Do they not exist? Am I confused? TIA

ETA: Prefer Beach Club but open to others ...

DVC rooms cannot be booked more than 11 months out.

For some of the newer resorts, Disney has not released all of the points to DVC owners. Disney still owns the points, so Disney can have people book rooms for cash through DisneyWorld.com

For older resorts, Disney still owns a small number of points, and can have people book rooms for cash.

If a DVC member wants to use their points to do something like go on a cruise, then those points get traded in to Disney, and Disney can have people book rooms for cash.

If rooms aren't booked at 60 days out, Disney might let people book them for cash.

I'm sure someone will come along to point out any technical errors in this post.

Oh, I knew that. I'm just saying that no matter what dates I put in 2023, there is never one available.

I think they go fast when you're paying with cash, I booked our 2 bedroom when cash rates were published last year and within a month or two most of the 2 bedroom inventory for our dates was gone

If you're looking for a 2-bedroom, keep in mind that some resorts have 2-bedroom lock-offs. A 2-bedroom lock-off is a studio and a 1-bedroom with a connecting door. If somebody already booked the studio or the 1-bedroom, that means the 2-bedroom is gone.

Riviera Resort is new. I went to DisneyWorld.com and put in random dates in August and a 2-bedroom Villa - preferred view is available. At $1,522.33 per night excluding tax.

So it's not impossible to book a 2-bedroom villa on the Disneyworld website for 2023.

When your search results come up, you have to choose an option:
- room
- package
- special offer, save up to 25% on rooms this summer

Sometimes if you have selected the Special Offer option, it will seem like no rooms are available. But there might be rooms available that aren't discounted. You have to select the Room option.

We stay in villas often and we book through Disney and pay cash just like any of the regular room inventory. We usually book 1 bedroom villas and can usually find them where and when we want them. 1 bedroom villas seem to be the most plentiful choice at all of the resorts that have them, followed by studios. In my experience, Grand Floridian is the hardest place to find a 1 Bedroom while Polynesian is the hardest place to find a studio. (Polynesian only has studios.) 2 bedroom villas and 3 bedroom grand villas are much harder to find. (Beach Club and Boulder Ridge do not have 3 bedroom villas). I rarely see 2 or 3 bedroom villas available anywhere but OKW and SSR. I actually see Copper Creek Cabins and Polynesian Bungalows more often than 2 and 3 bedroom villas at resorts other than OKW and SSR.
Just to be clear for other posters- The OP and I are referring to cash bookings directly through Disney. This has nothing to do with points, owned or rented.
Also- I have no experience with Riviera. I've never stayed there, never considered staying there, nor have I looked to see what room types they offer.

Edit: spelling, etc

Just keep checking - BCV 2-bedrooms are hard to get, but not impossible - we stayed in one in late March and I have one booked again in December (both booked cash though WDTC). If you are looking for an alternative - in the EP area, check RIV (though it will cost more). In the MK area, VGF is gorgeous and BRV was just refurbed.
