Just thought I would share my experience with the rest of you DVCer's!!
DH and I just yesterday called MS to book for May 2 at VB. And much to our surprise, we were able to get our ressie!!! Even over teh weekend.
MS was very helpful and delighted that they were able to help us! We have always had good luck at VB.
Just thought we would share this and give hope to all of you who, like us, love the spur of the moment vacations!!
Cannot wait to go to VB!

That's wonderful! What's your secret?

We tried to book VB for Jan. or Feb. a couple times around five months out and could not do it. To prevent that from happening again, we just bought an add-on there. (are we crazy or what?)

I keep hearing nice things about Vero Beach. Is it nice? relaxing? Do you get bored? Where do you eat? We are new DVCers and have read the propaganda about VB, but have never been there.

Well, I am sot sure if it is a secret, but according to MS, it is sometimes easier to book a month out than 5 months out. WHY? Cancellations and changes. We were told yesterday that a few weeks ago, there weren't any studios available at VB and now there are. Hmmm....I guess I am glad we plan last minute!
As for our impression of VB. We were there last September for the last two days of our WDW vacation. Our home resort is BWV and we wanted to check out VB. Well, we loved it so much we added on there! The staff is wonderful, the ocean, the pool, everything. It is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the outdoors.
Now we have a "home" at WLV too! (Yes, we are overdosing on Disney!)
We love VB and are so happy we got our ressie!!

I agree that you are most likely to hit a reservation at any DVC right after the 31 day cancellation deadline.

Also, your odds of calling on the exact day that your entire reservation is availabe seem to be decreasing the further you get from 11 months out. But don't despair. Ask to be put on the wait list and chances are things will work out.

Nice post DW. There are lots of places to eat at VB and if you don't feel like driving around searching just ask and they will tell you where to go. You can always eat right there but there are wonderful seafood restaurants in the area. I can't wait! Only 3 weeks away!!
