My dilemma
Original reservation is a room only from 10/9-10/15.
Saw a upgrade online so I booked online 10/13-10/15 same resort club level. When I try to modify my original room only 6 night to 4 it won’t let me. Thoughts ?
Call times are still long due to specials dropping.

Open up a chat session online? Otherwise just wait until like Friday or early next week. You are not charged and can cancel without issue next week right?

If you can't modify online, you need to call and see if Guest Services will modify the dates for you. I just did this this afternoon. I needed to take one day off of my reservation. Wait time when I called was about 40 minutes and the CM had to get guest services involved. I was lucky they approved my request and allowed me to keep my room and discount with the new dates. YMMV.

I have not been able to access my plans on the app or online all day and I need to change some stuff around. Calling is a pain in the butt from Canada to US.

If there's no current availability for the dates you're changing to, you won't be able to modify. There is virtually no difference between modifying and cancelling then making a new reservation. You can try and get them to do it for you, but we've never been successful with that.

Just leave it on hold and speaker phone while your making dinner, doing housework, chilling watching TV, etc.,

Like pp said, it's not as easy as it used to be to drop/add days to a reservation. You essentially have to cancel your reservation and rebook a new one. Hopefully your dates are still available for the change. I would do a little searching online for those 4 days while you're waiting to talk to a CM.

If you have the hangout app it is free. Best thing ever. I called Disney twice with it.

This was my understanding as well so imagine my surprise when I was able to modify my reservation online and add a date to the end of my reservation. I didn’t think that was possible…maybe it was because I was adding a date as opposed to taking one away? Mind you though, this is for a reservation next summer and I did it before the recent discounts dropped. The Disney website is so weird.

The DVC booking tool recently got an upgrade to allow reservation modifications in-place. Previously, you'd have to cancel a reservation and book an entirely new one to make changes (and risk losing whatever you had booked in the process). Perhaps the functionality to modify reservations has been rolled out to all reservation tools in the Disney portfolio.

Kind of similar questions, so I'm asking here, Do you have to change then to the current rack rate (if it did go up) if you do take days off? I guess I didn't realize it was like booking a new reservation if you take days off. I assumed you just stayed at that rate and could modify.

Which one is it exactly. I need this in my life 👍🏻
Google hangout dialer and you need hangout as well because the dialer is the tie in. But you use the dialer when you call. It will tell you the call to the US is zero dollars.

No, it’s possible to do it when there’s another room with the same parameters available. When it’s not possible is when there’s not a 2nd room. When it’s only 1 left you can call as ask for GS to make the change.
I’ve altered many stays online.

Only if the room you want to book is no longer available with the old promo.
To keep the promo when the rooms are no longer showing as available as a new reservation you have to call as request the change with GS (not reservations but GS, different department)

I ended up doing that. It all worked out fine and we are all set... moved up our dates from October to September so we are going sooner!

You can’t add or subtract resort days online. You have to call them. The change reservation button will allow you to do things like change resorts or categories. But to change travel dates or add or remove guests from the reservation you have to call.
