Booked room-only, will any mail show up to ruin the surprise?

Basically as the title says. I logged into My Disney Experience, which has my home address saved, and then booked a room-only reservation in December.

It just dawned on me, should I expect anything to show up in the mail? I didn't want the other adults in my family to know about this yet.

Thanks!

It’s been hit or miss for me. Most of the times no, but there were a few BB reservations that I modified afterwards I did get letter with the confirmation, room type price, etc. The initial reservations didn’t trigger the mailing, but oddly the modification did.

No but see if they show in your MDE. Sometimes they auto-populate. If they auto-populate go into the reservation and assign a dummy account to their spot and switch it back to them after.

I usually get an email with the resort confirmation. But when I switched a room only resort reservation from POR to WL there wasn't an email confirmation. It was mailed to me instead. I had called Disney and talked to a CM. He made the reservation for me. So maybe it had something to do with making a resort reservation by calling Disney rather than booking it myself via the internet. I seldom get anything in the mail, but I did this time. But I think if you booked the reservation yourself, then you might be safe. :)

Same thing with me

I just got a full color pamphlet in the mail with stickers last week that said they can’t wait to see us or something along those lines on the envelope.

Inside it had our dining reservation booking dates as well as the date to boom magical extras.

We have a room and ticket package.

I received mail for each room-only ressie I made for our trip in Jan 2025.

I would suggest signing up for USPS informed delivery. You will get an email each day with a picture of the mail you are receiving that day. If you see Disney envelopes......be the first to the mailbox!!

we have a couple room only reservations on the books for the next few months (a night here and there). I received the mailed receipt type document for one of them. That DOES come in a Disney envelope, so it would ruin a surprise.

I just received a booklet with some stickers yesterday, with a room-only All Star Movies reservation. It was a nice surprise for me, but hopefully not a surprise-ruiner for you.

As mentioned above I sometimes get an a confirmation in the mail as well as an email confirmation for room-only reservations. I always book with a CM on the phone and always book just room only.

Your mileage may vary!

We only do room only and in the old days, we always received something in the mail, then over the last few years nothing. Then out of the blue our last trip we received the same pamphlet mentioned above. BTW; this is totally Disney, no consistency. LOL

I always book room only - I oddly and unexplainably will occasionally get a mailed confirmation - like a receipt type of document, not marketing flair. It’s rare, but has happened. YMMV!

In our 4 trips in the last year I got this once (room only). I can’t remember what the envelope looked like but I’m sure it had a Disney something on the envelope. I have not gotten the color booklet in quite some time that we used to get. I have gotten nothing for the other trips in the mail.

I wouldn’t reply on informed delivery. Often our daily notice shows mail that was delivered a few days before and sometimes prices we don’t get for a few days (this part makes me think it was misdelivered. Haven’t figured out the problem on the first yet).

That enforced delivery used to work so well. Lately it has been less reliable but overall I still love it. I too wonder if my mail went to someone else. Luckily most of my mail is junk anyway.

That's interesting.....Our informed delivery is almost never incorrect. Once in a while it will say we are getting something that there is no picture for but otherwise it's quite accurate. I guess YMMV depending on your regional post office staff's competency.

regional post office staff's competency.

That is the biggest issue. I have such problems with my post office. Two major things recently:
1 - I had a hold mail for a long weekend when I was away for a conference. I assumed all had gone well as I'd requested it to be delivered the afternoon before I got home. A few days later I put in a hold for the cruise I was going on 2 weeks later. Within 3 days I noticed I was getting NOTHING in spite of digest showing things (including birthday cards from family). I called the main USPS number and spoke with someone who was extremely helpful and understanding. She removed the hold for the cruise (I opted to have my cat sitter get it each day). The next day, all my mail that had been missing arrived with a hold mail paper rubberbanded around it for - you guessed it - the hold that expired a week earlier for the conference.

2 - I have a package (99% sure it's my D23 shipment) scheduled to arrive. It was supposed to come on either Monday or Tuesday. Looked that evening and there was a "no secure location to leave package, notice left". Well, I was home all day and there was never a knock on the door (my apartment is close enough to the building front door I'd have heard it, the package truck never came down the street (I was in the front room ALL DAY and could see the street), AND all postal delivery people have keys to get into the "mail key" box to enter the vestibule. So no, they did not even attempt, just marked something that sounds plausible. It has shown up on Digest to come today...we'll see what happens.

So yeah...My trust in the post office here is slim to none. Anything majorly important I have sent to my parents and then I pay them to ship it to me with a tracking number.
