After reading some of the other posts about Travelocity, I'm a little concerned. We've planned our trip for April 25th through May 1st.
I could get four of our six nights for about $140 dollars less per room per night, and I've booked two rooms. I couldn't resist and went ahead and booked them. I'm paying rack rate the other two nights, which I booked through Disney several months ago.
I've used Travelocity before for other vacations, but not Disney. It's always worked out fine. But this time I don't want to show up and have them say "There's no room at the inn." Were going for DD's seventh birthday and DM's first trip.
I've got a confirmation email from Travelocity cobfirming our reservation.
We've stayed at the Poly before and it's our favorite resort. We've been going since the early 90's. For a while every couple of years, and anually the last four or five. We even worked two trips in last year. I always booked it myself through Disney.... Passholder rate, the deals where you could pay for four or five days and stay seven. Even a few stays at rack rate. I was, reluctantly, willing to pay rack rate this time.
I even called again yesterday asking about AP rates, BUC code, ZHD code, ZHE, ABC, XYZ - pretty much anything to lower the price a little. I even told them Travelocity had rooms for sale a a much cheaper price.
Nothing, nada, zilch... They wouldn't give any discount. The CM was pleasant enough, but there was no budging.
I brought up, even though I understand the business reasoning behind it - to get new customers down there and get hooked like we are - all of these 40%, 30%, 20% codes that had been sent out and it seemed that the passholders were the ones not getting any love from them. I'm not trying to be any way about this and I understand no discounts are guaranteed, but a bucks a buck.
I figured I saved over $1000 by going through Travelocity. And that's just on four of the six days.
Anyway, what I'm guessing I'm asking is, has anyone done a Disney trip though Travelocity and how did your experience turn out.
Sorry to be so long winded and thanks for any info.
