We are cruising 4 nights on the DCL in April next year. We always stay at Disney after the cruise for a few nights to round out the week. We are DVC members, we usually just book on points. Well, we used up all of our points for the cruise, so we will have to pay cash.

We haven't been to US/IOA in about 4 years. With Harry Potter open, we figured...why not? We could pay $693 for two nights (2 rooms) at Pop Century and then pay $70pp,pd for front of line access. Another $700{Easter weekend, I am assuming the price will be the "peak" price}. OR we could pay $774 for ONE room at Royal Pacific for the 2 nights, and get FOLA for free. Hmmmm, what do you think we should do?

I am getting excited now that my procrastinating is done, and I have actually booked it. Now I just have to stop by my local AAA office and get our passes!!!!

260++ days, that's not long, is it?

Nice. I have stayed at all 3 Universal resorts, and I love the Royal Pacific. My DH was surprised that is is the lowest priced of the three, because he thinks it's upscale in a Vegas hotel kind of way.

We loved the decorating, and they were super friendly. I have fond memories of playing pool outside and enjoying a nice cocktail while playing. It was too cold to swim when I was there, but the pool looks lovely.

And really you can't beat the price when you factor in that you are getting FOTL for everyone in the room. It's a solid value.

You will have fun- promise!

The Royal Pacific is a great resort! Be sure to pool hop. :)

I think you are in for a very nice surprise. Great Hotel! The downside is staying at Disney won't feel quite as good anymore. :)

Why would you need 2 rooms at the Pop but only 1 at the RPR, are you booking the Children's Suite?

I would also hold off on passes so far in advance. You have plenty of time to get some sort of promotion.

No children's suite. I don't know why. I told them we were a party of 5, 2 adults 3 kids ages 14, 12 and 11. They booked me into a standard room with two queen beds. I guess they aren't as strict as Disney when it come to room occupancy. :confused3:confused3

You just had to say that didn't you? All that will do is cause someone to worry. So why not explain to the OP why you made that comment?

No worries! ;) I don't fret over someone else's experience. Just because someone had a bad time, doesn't mean we will.

I guess that it's just me but I always want details instead of blanket statements. Plus we all loved RPR so this surprised me.

I hope that you love it too. :)

i was being sincere. I hpe they do. Our issue was housekeeping not getting to our room untill 530pm most days. It was horrible especially because it is dd late nap time so most of the time we just told them no and switched towels. I don't really know what took them so long my parents had there room done by 9 and 8 am we were in room 1220 they were in 1227:confused3

Our floors Ice machine broke down every evening and one day I found a band aid floating in it. I called downstairs and reported all theses issues. I got a $75 room credit and a 2pm check out time.

5 is the occupancy limit for Universal hotels. Since we've never had 5 in a room I guess you ask for a rollaway, I did see a bellhop pushing one of those last time we were at the Hard Rock.

We just returned from the RPR and had a great time. Our room was cleaned late on Sunday; I figured it was because they were busy getting rooms ready for incoming guests. We were in the room when the maid arrived (we had been kicked out of the pool because of thunder and it was threatening to rain) so we took our books and went down to have drinks and appetizers in the Orchid Lounge. I guess it would be harder if you had a little one napping, but it didn't faze us.
