Booked FP day of 15 hour road trip :(

So I had to wake up at 11:50 pm on the day of driving my parents from FL to NJ- and we were leaving FL to drive at 2am. (This happened Friday night/Sat am)I got most of the FPs at the times I wanted, including A/E and 7DMT, but was so cranky doing it. I know lots of people are happy with their three (or more) fast passes and not having to rush for rope drop or doing the "dash" to some of the rides- but I found this process to be stressful. Having to pick what park I want to be at and exactly what ride and what time-I just didn't care for it (this is why I only pick one ADR a trip and do counter service or what is available for the rest). Anyone else find this really stressful (as opposed to just annoying to only have the ability to chose three and the towering)? Any tips on how to chill for future trips? I'm guessing there are always going to be the "hot, hard to get" passes-- I wish there was an easier way than 12:01 am computer time-
Also- anyone else having issues getting decent times during the beginning of their trip? My first two days had really limited FP times/availability- the last part of the trip was fine.
