We've not been in 3 years, and have spent more than 5 weeks in WDW since.

Our WDW trips have just be SO perfect and magical that as excited as I am for DLRP I keep thinking things like....

"I wish we could eat at Kona"

"We won't get to see Philharmagic"

"There's no EPCOT"

"Newport Bay sure isn't the Boardwalk"

I know I'm super lucky to be going to DLRP, and there's no way we could make it to WDW this year.

I think this trip will either make or break DLRP for us, we're going really to see Dreams, and because we got a great deal. But it's so hard not to compare!

I think you just have to take DLP for what it is. It's not as good as WDW, there is no comparison and we all know that! It does have its plus points though. :) We're heading back there in June after a short break of just over a year and we're really looking forward to it- Dreams will be awesome (hopefully!). :thumbsup2

I agree ::yes:: if you start comparing it's always going to fall short. We gave it a break for 3 years as we all felt DLPed ( I know that's not a proper word but hope you know what I mean) out but when we went back again last year we all really enjoyed it and booked again for this year even though we hadn't really intended to! We're going to Disneyland next year and know it's not going to be the same as WDW but I'm sure we'll love it for itself.

At least you have something a little nearer to look forward to and I'm sure you'll have a great time - you just have to enjoy it for what it is and not try to make the comparison.

Yesterday I started talking to DH about my 50th (it's a few years off yet I hasten to add!), just wonder if he took the hint about wanting to spend it at WDW (only problem is my birthday is probably the worst day of the year to have a birthday). Makes me laugh to think that I don't give a jot about reaching that milestone, providing Mickey et al are involved!

Just see it as a Disney fix. I would rather be in DLP than here! Besides, you have to admit the Castle is beautiful.

I have been to DLRP in between WDW visits and loved it just as much as I did before I went to WDW. I see them as 2 different types of trips and look forward to the great things that DLRP has. I am a little jealous of all those who get to go for dreams, as I can't go for it.:)

Agree totally...DLP is ok for a quick fix and I would do exactly the same. :thumbsup2
Unfortunately because we have all been to WDW we know that its just second best..it is what it is..a good ol' fix of the mouse and not to be sniffed at :wizard:

Thanks guys.

My first post came off a bit ungrateful I know.

And I am super excited and do love DLRP. It has the prettiest castle. And it's BTM and POTC are way better.

I just don't want to not appreciate it while I'm there because I'm comparing it to WDW!

I need to remember that it's such a different break. Only 4 days, with a couple of hours travel and for the price of 1 flight to Orlando!

I'm just a little scared I won't love it like I used to now I've spent so much time in WDW.
