This is my first post here in years after we have finally taken the plunge and booked for oct 2015. I am soooo excited!

We haven't been since 2001 so pre DDP...

My daughter can't eat dairy or soy and we want to do some character dining and def one meal at Artist point (staying in wilderness lodge as that was where we were on honeymoon)

Can anyone point me in the right direction for what to do next or tips on where would be great to eat?

Dh, ds10, dd6(allergies) and me (seafood lover!)
Thanks in advance

Note allergies on all your dining reservations and when you get there, make sure they are aware. They will have a chef speak to you about providing safe food. at the TS they will actually make things off-menu in areas that will avoid cross-contamination if needed.

CS can be trickier because some of them are not capable of avoiding cross-contaimination, although many are.

You are definitely better off with TS than CS. Note it on your reservation if possible, but mostly make sure you tell the host and your server asap. They will send the chef out to talk to you, and they will come up with something from scratch that fits your needs. My niece had to do that at almost every meal when we went in 2010. She usually ended up liking her meal even more than anyone else, and loved the "special treatment", lol!

Both of my daughters have multiple allergies. WDW do a wonderful job with their food allergy patrons. Each restaurant has a chef assigned to food allergy food prep with own prep area and stove. It's important to note the allergies at reservation and at the reception desk. After sitting, the chef would come to the table and go over the allergies. The chef would discuss the menu and if it's buffet, walk you to each station and tell what do and don't. The chef would also prepare special menu if needed. In many occasions, my daughters would get something off menu. Also, they have all different kind of dessert for the kids. From cookies, soy ice-cream, ice-bar to fresh fruits.

For counter service, the manager has a list with the allergens. I am not sure about cross-contamination or special prep.

Disney is my #1 travel destination with my kids for this reason. In recent years, many other places started to be allergy conscience. However, I believe Disney is the best of them all. Of course I heard screw up stories, but I have great experience with them.
BTW, Disney Cruise is phenomenal too. The chef came to the table and discussed the child's menu for the next day, even offered to pack something for excursions. AMAZING.

Thank you all so much. Dining plan was free so we have upgraded it to deluxe which I think is more table service.

Looking forward to being able to give her some nice food experiences instead of all the scary stuff!

I did the upgrade 3 years ago followed by a 7 days cruise on Allure of the Seas. It was lots and lots of eating. Consider booking Hoop Dee Doo and the luau with so many TC. Both do great job accommodating food allergies.
