So, I'm not really sure what to do here...

I had my birthday at Ohana a couple of years ago and had a cupcake with a candle brought out to me for dessert.

For 2009, I assumed after reading a lot of press from Disney, that more celebrations would be available. I even read somewhere that special addons could be booked for between $5-$15 and the list of restaurants that provided these addons included Ohana! So, I called in to the Dining line to book whatever addon they had available... they knew nothing of it!

What now?

Will my sister just get a cupcake? :rotfl:

Thanks guys :)

hmmm, i think disney has it on a website maybe disneyparkscelebration for something similar. i would suggest calling disney back and maybe a different CM might know. Also, it could be something you could do once you check in at the podium -just a thought. good luck!

1) Most ressie phone CM's will not know about this.
2) Until it pops up in the ressie computer, they do not know details.
3) That is, even if they know there is such a program.
4) After all,
. . . their job is to book what is available on the computer
. . . and only what is in the computers
. . . their job is not to discuss future plans

NOTE: Please do not blame the phone CM's. It may sound harsh, but Ressie and Dining CM's are there to make ressies and sell. They don't have time to discuss upcoming events or options. If they tried to explain items not in the computer, they would not have time to do their job. In some cases, their sales or output would be so low that it would cost them money or even cost them their jobs.

I just booked my own birthday dinner yesterday at Chef Mickey's. I was told that I could add a cake if I called atleast 48 hours prior to our reservation. She said for me to call the rest. directly though. She also said they started at $15 and went up and you could get personalization. She seemed very knowledgable and willing to assist.

I have worked in hotel reservations before that I believe is pretty much exactly the same. We were required to sell to at least 20% of the people who called. This is understandable, and I'm not going about calling to waste anyone's time. However, if the Disney site says to call Disney Dining and Disney Dining says "I don't know!", that is hardly acceptable service!

If Dining CMs are only there to sell and make ressies, design another line then... don't tell the customer to call Dining CMs!
