Is this possible? Can I book a discounted room & tix package through travelocity and then add on the dining plan?

Nope. You must book a package (room and tickets) through WDTC to be eligible for the Dining Plan. Only exception is a DVC member staying on points or an AP holder booking and AP discounted room.

No. Travelocity, Expedia, and others are selling room only reservations and adding tickets separately. They are not selling WDW packages.

Some, like Southwest Vacations, Delta Vacations, and others, do sell actual WDW packages and can add on dining as an option. It all depends on their contracts with Disney, but Travelocity, Expedia, Priceline, Orbitz, and the like all have room only contracts. So no DDP since they don't sell true WDW packages.

I find the best deals and more room availability through WDTC than through the other wholesalers. I use Southwest Vacations often for my clients since they have frequent promotions and good flights from my area, but Disney often limits the rooms SWV can book, often no 5 person POR rooms for example.

Depending on dates of travel, you can't really beat the room rates on Travelocity and Orbitz right now, even with a 40% off pin or free dining code!

Great questions... it's always good to compare apples to apples. I had the same question in my mind but didn't have time to type it yet.

CM's won't be able to discuss your res at all. We can't even pull those up in the system.
