Book Room & Tix Separately ?? OR As a Package ??

I need some input please....

NEVER been to US so......
What is your feedback on Purchasing Park Tix & Hotel ??

Purchase on US web-site as a package OR just buy individually ??

Planning on staying at Off-Property Partner Hotel, The DoubleTree Hotel at Maingate and doing Parks for 2 days

PLEASE HELP WITH ANY SUGGESTIONS OF BEST WAYS TO GO....

INFO: Need 2 rooms, 4 in each, total 4 adults & 4 kids

if you want the perks of the package such as early entry to potter, then you would need to book the offsite hotel as a universal package.

We just booked a package on the Universal site. We are doing the Harry Potter package which has early admission as well as a breakfast at the Three Broomsticks. We chose the Holiday Inn Maingate (next door to the Doubletree) It got really good reviews on Tripadvisor and was reasonable.

I checked the pricing on the AAA website and to book the room and buy tix sep. was about $250.00 less than a package. I opted for the package for several reasons. We will be going the week before easter and the express pass price is $55 so that tells me it will be super crowded. I like the early entry perk of the package and the breakfast ressie @ 3 broomsticks. I have read on the dis that during peak times the 3 brooms line can be up to an hour. To eat!! To me, this was worth the extra. Now, if I were going during value season, I would do the tix sep from the room. Good Luck in whatever you decide!

It's sort of Value Season, but still.....
Doing WDW for a week, then last 2 nights at US.
All Disney stuff booked. air travel reserved, just need to book the US portion.
