Someone posted on the strategies site that they were considering booking a campsite to get the EMH hours but not sleeping there.

Would this work? provided you checked in and paid the bill?

All I'm wondering is would this seriously work? Wouldn't DW know you weren't staying there?

I have no idea if this would work or not. IMO I think that it would be a very shady thing to do. You would be taking up a campsite that someone else could really be using.

Thanks Asmit4, I was just going to post this!

SKCmom: I see where you are coming from, but in this situation, I think it is completely fair. It's not like double booking ADR's. If we booked a tent site, we would be paying for our space and the ameniities included in booking a WDW resort. Whether we decide to physically use it every night or not would be our business. If we were not paying for the space, than I would totally agree that it wouldn't be fair to others.

We actually might decide to camp out a few of the nights of our stay (it's easy enough for us to pack our tent), or relax in the campsite during the day if we needed a break from the parks. Actually, the more I think about this, I could definately see us using that space during the day as a mid day break, picnic, rest, etc..I'm liking this idea more and more!

What it comes down to is this: we are desperately trying to afford a WDW wedding/HM. We are a young (and poor!) couple trying to afford this on our own for just ourselves. In order to book, it is mandatory to have a minimum 4 night stay at a WDW resort. We were originally going to just go Value for 4 days and then stay off site for the rest, but I'd really like to partake in nighttime EMH with my DF on our HM, the ME would be nice as well.

If we did it this way, we would have at least those 4 nights covered, could stay at a nice comfy off site resort for sleeping, and enjoy all the resort amenities that we paid for, and even use that space during the day as a place to relax. I have always wanted to see the FW campgrounds and my guess is that they are beautiful and peaceful areas to relax during the day. We might end up camping at night for a night or so, but again, I think that would rightfully be our choice since we paid for it.

I'm surprised this idea hasnt yet been brought up on here!

BTW SKCmom: I love your user title :hippie: Couldn't resist commenting on your love for both Deadheads and Princesses! Such a wonderful combination for a family!! :goodvibes

I'm sure it'd work, and is FW campsite often full? The issue is how many people you need to get EMH for. Staying offsite is more and more cost effective the more people you have, staying onsite is fun and ideal for me, if for whatever reason it doesnt work this seems to be a good alternative. Camping is always fun but not having a place with AC would not be to my liking.

I'd think though that, the cost of the campsite and an offsite place would cost at least what a Moderate does. I'd take the moderate over offsite and better lodgings as moderates are very nice, much better than a motel as I often hear them compared to. PoFQ is so attractive to the eye, same with PoR, CBR has nice big rooms (as big as WL or AKL I think) and the lake is beautiful, a new pool soon, and everyone raves about CSR, everything there it seems. Values are never going to work for me as I dont want to rent a car the entire time and the lines I see for them are too big.
