My neighborhood did the "You've Been Boo'ed" thing this year for Halloween. You know, when someone leaves a bag full of goodies at your door with a note saying "You've Been Boo'ed" and then you make up a bag and give leave one at someone else's door, etc. Does anyone do anything like this for Xmas? If so, what do you call it and how do you do it? I would like to start one for Xmas, but don't know where to begin. Is there a poem for this? I have one for the Halloween version. What kind of goodies do you put in your bags? I need some ideas! TIA to everyone!:thumbsup2

I've heard of people being "frosted" or "snow balled".......................

Got these almost 2 years ago off the FlyLady mail list!
Have fun!!

I think the idea is to post the angel, star or Elf at the door so the
neighbors know you have already been treated. But who knows.

The Christmas Angel has come to town,
To leave you some goodies, I see you have found.

If you wish to spread some of this good cheer,
Continue this greeting, 'cause Christmas is near.

First post the "Angel" where all can see,
And leave it there until Christmas Eve.

Then make 2 treats, with 2 notes like this,
Deliver to 2 neighbors who the Angel has missed.

You have only two days to leave a treat.
Ring the doorbell and run -- be fast on your feet.

Let's share in the spirit of friendship and love,
That's what Christmas is really made of.

Here is another one!

You have been Elfed!

Santa's little helper has come to town,
To leave these goodies you have found.
If you wish to have the best season of all
You must help this "Elf" with his call.

First, post this Elf where it can be seen
And leave it there till Christmas Eve.
Then other visiting Elves will pass on their way.
Be sure to participate, it will bring joy to your day..

Second, make two treats,
Two Elves, and
Two notes like this.

Just one day, is all you've got
So go ahead and give it a shot.

Leave the treats where they Elf has not gone
By the light of the moon, deliver to their home.

Hide behind a bush, a car even a tree
The surprise & joy on their face you are sure to see.

Now you've been blessed with yuletide cheer.
You'll feel it throughout the New Year.

Alas another Christmas Tradition is sure to have begun.
Thanks for sharing in this Christmas fun.

And last but not least, enjoy the season.
For all of the right reasons.

Happy Holidays!

Ghost of Christmas Spirit Letter Surprise

This explains how to make a simple holiday treat for someone special.
A nice holiday surprise!
Materials Needed:
Letter Below
Candy Cane
Christmas Star
Instructions:
This is a fun surprise gift that is left near someone's door without
them knowing who left it! (Sort of like a May Day basket.)

Print out the letter below or make up your own, grab a candy cane, and
include a homemade star ornament or picture. Then put them all in a
little gift bag or basket and leave them on someone's front steps -
don't let them see you!
Print out and include this letter:

The ghost of Christmas Present has come here,
To leave you some good old Holiday cheer.

Don't be an Ebonezer, oh boy
Continue this greeting, this Christmas joy.

First, put this greeting where all can see,
Try to leave it there on Christmas eve.

It will pass good will to all who visit.
Be sure to join in, you won't want to miss it.

Second, add a candy cane and a Christmas star.
Deliver it to a neighbor, maybe near, maybe far.

Don't let them see you - be sneaky - no doubt,
And make sure they find this greeting out.

Next, you have only just one chance, so be fast.
Leave it at the door where joy needs to last.

Leave it at dark when there isn't much light.
Ring the door bell, run, stay out of sight.

And last but not least, join in this season.
Don't worry, be happy, you don't need a reason.

This is good for all, and just trying to say,
Merry Christmas to all and have a great day.

Here's an idea for "You've Been Jingled"

http://www.busybeelifestyle.com/youve-been-jingled/

The site gives some helpful ideas for starting this in your neighborhood, as well as a cute poem to go along with it:

A Jingling Poem!

Christmastime is drawing near,
So here’s a fun way to share some cheer!
“You’ve Been Jingled” is the latest sensation
To get a merry start on your holiday celebration!

Choose two families to receive some joy,
Make each a gift of little treats or toys!
The “jingling” will spread from home to home
As each family passes on this jingling poem

I think this sounds like a great idea and I'm considering starting it in our neighborhood. Thanks for posting the original idea.

I am the room coordinator for my son's 2nd grade class and was just thinking about this. This year the school has changed to a "winter party" instead of a Christmas party. I wanted to Jingle the class a few times before the party but need to change it to"You've been Snowed" or something like that. Does any one have any ideas using snow, snowmen or penguins as a theme?

We have been "elfed" in the past. We usually get candy with a cute picture of an elf-can't remember the saying though.

We have a holiday tradition in our family that began a few years ago. It all started when my parents bought my aunt several large, Christmas gazing balls (she had commented that year about how much she hated gazing balls) and put them in her yard on Christmas Eve. The next year, she passed the gazing balls on to another family member's yard, this time adding several other "tacky" decorations. Since then, every year someone is suprised on Christmas morning to find a yard fully of colorful Christmas stuff (complete with pink flamingos). My dh and I were the lucky decorees last year, and this year we will probably decorate my sister's house. It gives everyone a good laugh and it's funny to see how the collection grows bigger each year. :dance3:
