BOO TO YOU, SANTA!! A November 2012 PTR!-Upd 10/24,pg.14-#205 Costumes and T-Shirts!

As the Husband of the Mother Daughter same day birthday duo I agree with most things on your list except for a couple. One I believe the Maharaja Jungle trek is the best walk through of the two. You get the best view of tigers that you will ever see in a zoo and the bats are really creepy and cool at the same time.

Now as far as the Boneyard. If you want your children to experience what it was like to be put in the hole in a POW camp in Hanoi in 1000 degree heat and no ventilation then this is the experience you are looking for.

Let me sum it up this way. Its a playground located at the outer rim of hell, that once you go in you will wonder why you did.

Wow, another lurker lured out into the light! Glad you decided to follow along! :woohoo: Thanks for the advice on Maharaja , if we had to drop one I think it was going to be Pangani and your input helps solidify that.

Normally I would be all over the POW camp thing, but we went to Vietnam last year and I don’t want the kids to get burnt out on the experience. They run in the room and start begging to go back and I just yell “Di di mao! Di di mao!” and they scamper back to the hole I dug them in the back yard. I just hope WDW isn’t too big of let down for them.

Count me in!!

Thanks for joining in, I'm glad to have you be part of my seven dizzer army!:teeth:

I heartily agree with this. The Boneyard should not be trifled with. I once saw an entire Brazilian Tour Group incinerate spontaneously just by entering the aptly-named Boneyard. All that was left was a Brazilian flag and a pile of bright yellow soccer jerseys which, apparently, are flame-retardant (who knew?)

Let me add one more thing to consider. While I totally agree with your placement of It's Tough to Be a Bug in the high-priority category, you may want to skip it with the little ones. I forced my kids to see when they were a little bit older than your kids and they were completely scarred for life. They are now ages 8 & 11 and refuse to set foot in that show under any circumstances. :scared1: It seems that they weren't impressed by the giant spiders that descended from the ceiling (though, personally, I thought the spiders were an animatronic marvel). :confused3

On the flip side, they love Dinosaur and find it much less scary than It's Tough to be a Bug.

Just a thought to consider.

Thanks for all the tips! Even though none of the adults are excited about the Train/Affection Section I figure we will do it just because the kids will probably love it.

It would be great to get some low wait times with the characters, hopefully with a few that are unique to Animal Kingdom!

I'm a bit nervous about Kali! Not the ride itself, just being soaked. Our plan is to fastpass it and ride in the middle of the day, hopefully when it is warmest!

THe train is cool, it sits sideways faceing out instead of facing forward. So it is a nice ride back too! ;) Back int he affection section I *think* is one of the ONLY laces you see Jiminy Crickett!!

I beleve Pocahontas is exclusive to AK also along with Turk(from Tarzan) and other 'animal' Characters

The thing about Kali is you can get SOAKED or nothing barely at all. Depends on where your sitting in the raft. It is a gamble! ;)

I saw on the Pop thread they took out the Pop Jet Fountains....so sad. I am super bummed, my kids loved it as much as the pool. ;(

I also know some kids in the 7-9 range who were FREAKED OUT by this show. Mine have always been fine but it is a good point!

I will not use my kids as a reference point because I am the big chicken of the family. Having said that, that show FREAKED me out!!! Dinosaur on the other hand is my favorite ride in all of AK. But I must say we did not put our 4 year old on Dinosaur when we were there a couple weeks ago even though he was tall enough. That ride is really loud and jerky. You might have Gwen hold out on that one until next trip. Just a thought. :)

My Jack (at 3 1/2 yrs) rode Dinosaur and was fine. However he did not want to ride twice! lol

Fine, fine...I'll sub in.....it was the Mad Max reference that really drew me in.... (with the bonus Tina Turner reference:thumbsup2)

I"m glad your wife convinced you to post some more---natural--pictures of your daughter...she's beautiful!

I'm also voting (if this is a democracy) to move PeopleMover up. Hell, I love most of the rides at MK, but if I just got to ride this all day, I'd be set because I'm IN Disney.

And I agree about the "It's Tough To Be A Bug" show. We tried our second attempt this past trip and were again met with a screaming, sobbing child. Not worth it--it's scary!:scared1:

Sorry for the delayed response, our computer decided to take a dirt nap last night right when I was about to reply to everyone's comments. Please take a moment to bow your heads in memory of our compluter. Oh Dell Inspiron, we hardly knew ye... :(

It makes sense that the jerseys would be flame retardent when you consider the meyham that can erupt from one of their soccer matches. One time when I went to a Brazillian futball match things escalated quickly and I stabbed a man in the heart with a trident.

It seems like ITTBAB is a total hit or total miss with kids. I have read a few places where people were on both sides of the fence. DD actually likes to be scared if she is a bit prepared for it so who knows. Thanks for the input though!

I think we will definately do the train/affection section now that we are dropping the deathpit, I mean Boneyard. Unfortunately Terk and Jiminy no longer appear at AK (or anywere else for that matter). From what I have read they both stopped meeting in December. :sad2:

Another vote against...

You are pretty wienie, but that still is the third caution on that show. Oddly enough, it is Mom's favorite attraction and really high on Amy's list as well. I'm sure they will see it one way or another. As for Dinosaur, I think I will see how she does on some of the larger rides early on in the trip. If plans stay as they are the day we do Dinosaur will be in the middle of the trip so we should have an idea of how she is doing with big rides. Either way, thanks for the advise! :thanks:

Thanks for joining in and for the coment about DD! She sure doesn't get her looks from me. Unfortunately for DS he very much favors the men in my bloodline.

Rest assured that PeopleMover has been moved up our official list and is now at least a Medium-Priority for our group. With the non-existant wait times, and universal praise it has recieved in this PTR, I can't imagine that we would miss it at this point! :thumbsup2

Well darn it! Bummer! How can they no show Jiminy Crickett?? I mean really? SO wrong. ;(

So are you doing the dining plan? Or have you gotten that far yet?

I completely agree about Jiminy! I'm hoping that he will show up at one of the parties, we would definately set aside time to meet him!

We are hoping to do the dining plan. It kind of depends on what (if any) offeres are going on at that time. The last three years have had free dining that time of year, so if there is that or a good room discount then it would be a yes. :goodvibes We havn't talked a lot about specific restaurants, but I know it would be character meal heavy!

We got a free QSDP pin and I booked today!!! My pretrip report is active since I actually have a ressie! YAY! We are sticking with QS though. With the little ones I like picking when and what we want to eat when we are hungry not 180 days before! LOL We are going to do Garden Grill but that will likely be our only sit down! ;)

;)

Joining in too, we'll overlap for a couple of days (we arrive on the 10th) for our daughters first trip (she'll be 20 months). Great plans so far, don't have much advice as this will be our first trip with a child, but I hope to get tips from your PTR.

Congrats on the pin and on booking!! Hopefully we will be in the next week or so! The Garden Grill is on our list also. No idea about the food, but I've read that Chip and Dale are fun to interact with.

Thanks for joining in! DS was 11 months for our all to short first trip and he had a great time. I can't wait to see him at 2 years! He loves Mickey so much he might pass out from excitement! :faint: Are you planning to hit one of the Christmas parties?

We're not sure about the Christmas parties yet. Right now DD is in bed by 7 and she doesn't do well past that time yet. We'll probably play it by ear once there if there are any tickets left.

I've been lurking but wanted you to know I am here. To introduce myself...I am the best friend of the mother of the mother/daughter team that share a birthday, wife of ryels and mother to the 8 and 11 yr olds that won't step foot on ITTBAB. I am really enjoying your PTR. Keep it up.

Thanks for coming aborad! :cool1: I now have two sets of spouses!

Both couples, please feel free to air your dirty laundry on this thread. :laundy: It would probably make for a much more interesting PTR! (I've been trying to figure a way to put that emoticon in!)

I should have time tomorrow to get the HS priorities up!

So will you guys ALL be dressing up for the Halloween party?????

Yep, no wet blankets in this bunch! We have already picked our theme/costumes, but I'll save that for another post! I have 8+ months to fill, so I can't give away all my secrets too early. :hourglass
