Boo To You and The Castle Suite Too! – A September 2013 TR

Too bad that it was raining off and on all day for you but glad you were able to get so much accomplished.

So glad that Alexa got her hug from Minnie. Those were some amazing balloon animals. Carson's hat is huge!!

So glad that they didn't cancel Fantasmic and that it didn't rain for all of the show.

Wonderful TR and so looking forward to reading about the night in the Castle. :cool1:

LOVE the resort...We ate at Cape May Café two weeks ago and I fell in love with the resort, SO Beautiful and you just have to see it in person :)

Love your daughters swimsuit too, I love anything nautical on children.

Can you believe this past time was the first time we had seen Fantasmic? We have been missing out!!

My son was scared to ride TOT too ( I was nervous for him) he ended up doing it but probably won't get him on it again for a long while. LOL

Can you believe we never have seen Fantasmic yet? I must make time for it soon.

We just saw it for the first time this past August. In prior years, I thought the villain elements of it would freak Michael out.

Thats my worry with Claire too. She freaks out at the site of Ursala still, but if I hold her hand she is usually ok.

Loving your TR! You have a beautiful family!! Thanks for sharing your story with us!
Thank you for your sweet comments!

Looks like a fun day at HS despite the rain. We didn't make it over there, mainly because it didn't seem like there would be much for DS to do. Your report made me feel better about that decision. Maybe in a few years we'll give it a go. Fantasmic looks great and the dance party looks like it was a lot of fun. :) I'm glad Alexa got her hug!
Yes, the rain was a little annoying, but we had an awesome time! I think you made a good decision to wait on HS. You would of had fun, but they need more for the little ones to do. I'm glad they offer the dance party or there wouldn't have been anything for Alexa during EMH. And yes, thank goodness Alexa got that hug. Her night was complete after that.:rotfl:

The dance party looks so cute! I had hoped to try that on our Studios day, but it was a morning EMH and we had breakfast reservations instead.
The dance party was fun and I bet your boys would have liked it, but at least they got to experience the characters at the breakfast.

What an awesome day! Glad F! was not cancelled for you, we finally saw it this past trip for the first time because we had the FP+ and it was great! My younger DS got that same creepy Yoda doll at DHS in 2010. It's still sitting on his bookshelf guarding his bedroom. LoL
We were so happy that Fantasmic wasn't cancelled and we really enjoyed FP+ so we didn't have to wait so long. Oh creepy Yoda...gotta love him. He inspired Carson to be Yoda for Halloween.:rolleyes2

Thank you! Yes, I was impressed with the balloon animals during the party. Carson ended up sticking his balloon sword on top of the tall hat making it even taller. He loved all the attention he got from that hat. As we were walking out it was so tall it hit the ceiling of the HS entryway and the sword popped! The castle stay is the next day, so it shouldn't be too much longer.;)

I know I just love the Yacht Club!:lovestruc
So your son really didn't like TOT? At least he was brave enough to try it! I'm glad DH went on it the first time with my son. Knowing how nervous he was, he would have made me nervous.

Can you believe we never have seen Fantasmic yet? I must make time for it soon.
Really? I figured you would have seen it by now. At least they offer FP+ now to make it more convenient...something you should consider for your next trip.

We just saw it for the first time this past August. In prior years, I thought the villain elements of it would freak Michael out.

I was worried about this the first time we took our kids and they were 3 and 5. There were a few times they hid their face but overall they were so amazed by it!

I'm enjoying your report! Love the pics! Congrats on the amazing win!!! :thumbsup2

Thank you so much! I'm glad you're reading along.

Thats my worry with Claire too. She freaks out at the site of Ursala still, but if I hold her hand she is usually ok.

I think she would be fine. There are a few parts she could close her eyes, but I think she would enjoy most of it. I saw a video with the glow with the show ears. We just missed it by a couple weeks. It looks pretty cool. Maybe a new set of glowing ears would entice Claire to watch it. You'd be too busy taking those awesome pictures you take to hold her hand. :thumbsup2

Today is the big day! The day we get to check into Cinderellas Castle Suite! :dance3:
But the Castle Concierge wasn't picking us up until 3:00pm, so we had some time to kill. Our original plans were to sleep in, get in some pool time, each lunch at Beaches and Cream and take it easy before they picked us up. However, things didn't quite work out that way! We woke up to more of that darn pouring rain!! :worried: The forecast was calling for a 90% chance of rain the entire day. So much for a sunny relaxing pool day! So we discussed our options and decided to go the Animal Kingdom that morning. We wouldn't have much time so wed have to prioritize what we wanted to do and just pick a few things. Expedition Everest was a must do! Wed been to all the shows except Bugs Life, so we wanted to give that one a try for sure. We loved the safari, but we had been on it a couple times in February, so we decided to skip it this time. Wed just have to see how the morning goes if wed get to do anything else. I snapped this picture of the kids in the lobby as we waited on DH who forgot something in the room.

Then we set off for the bus stop. As we were walking up a bus pulled right up! We had the best luck with buses at this resort! So far we had walked to Epcot and taken the boat to Hollywood Studios, so the kids were actually really excited to get on a Disney bus?!? So I took a few pictures.

We arrived at Animal Kingdom not too long after opening. I took this terrible picture of a guys head and a cut off sign to document our arrival.

We headed straight towards Expedition Everest. It was raining on and off lightly, but it wasn't too bad. There are a lot of trees to keep the rain off of you, so that helps. At one point I took this picture of Carson as we stopped for some coffee.

We saw a photopass photographer and decided to stop. We didn't have photopass+ this time, but I did pre-order the CD and with the rain the day prior we hadn't gotten any pictures so far.

Carson was excited for Expedition Everest and the Photopass lady picked up on that and asked to get some of him individually.

It was the first week they were testing the Magic Band with Photopass, so she scanned my band and off we went. Very convenient.

At Expedition Everest we got the parent swap again because DD was a little too short for this one. I rode with Carson first and it was a walk on.

Carson was a little bummed he didn't get the front row here. At Cedar Point they let you pick your row, so hes a little used to that. But he got over it enough to give me a thumbs up.

A nice lady offer to take a picture of us together.

Soon we were boarding and all thoughts of the front row had disappeared we were excited. Its a very fun ride and I love Disney coasters so much more than CP because of the elaborate themes and detail. He begged me to take video during the ride. He loves watching YouTube of different rides and wants to have his own collection. So I did my best.

After we got off, Brandon used the parent swap to ride with Carson again and lucky enough they got front row! I had one happy boy. :worship:

We were doing so good on time, so we decided to go to Dinoland on our way up to Bugs Life. This is sort of a tacky area compared to the rest of the Animal Kingdom, but the kids love it none the less. Due to the time limit we decided to divide and conquer. I went on Primevil Whirl with Carson, while Brandon went on Triceratops Spin with Alexa.

This was the first time I had been on Primevil Whirl, I was a little nervous knowing its nickname of Primevil Hurl :lmao:. But I was pleasantly surprised; it was such a fun little ride! It doesn't spin you the entire time (thank goodness), but at the end it was really whipping us around and we were laughing so hard. Good times with my sweet Carson.

Meanwhile Alexa was having fun on Triceratops Spin with her Daddy.

I just have a little bit more to go for AK then I'll start writing about our fantastic Castle Suite stay! Thanks for being patient.:)

so nice he wanted the front row and then he got the Disney magic the next time. Looks like you all had a great time.

So glad you had good bus luck from BC/YC, because our luck in August was the worst! We waited forever each and every time and often one bus would come, would get completely full and we had to wait some more for another.

My son (he's 7) went on Primeval Whirl for the first time this past August. He stated and I quote: "That was the worst thing that has ever happened to me in my entire life." :guilty:

Sounds like Plan B is turning out well! Can't wait to hear about the Castle Suite!

AK looks like a great alternative! Sounds like you guys had a great time there. I am so excited to hear about your castle experience I, I can't wait!

That child swap seems like it's a boon for an older child with a younger sibling; how great to ride twice! Animal Kingdom is one of my favorite parks to open, but I haven't ever been there past 1 in the afternoon; we're usually long gone by then. I always wonder what it's like at the end of the day - and hope someday I get to do a later night there. Guess I will when Pandora opens!

Such a bummer that rain affected your trip so much. I can't wait to hear about your night in the castle!!!

I'm hooked! What an awesome trip! We actually were at WDW at the same time. We went from 9/17-9/25 so I remember the weather from that time. I can't believe you actually won that trip! It makes me want to start signing up for sweepstakes myself. Lol.

Your kiddos are super cute! Seems like such a nice relaxing trip! Can't wait to read about your castle stay!!!!

I am so glad you decided to write a trip report. I am really enjoying it! How super cool to have won a trip!!! Especially one with a night in the castle!!! So sorry rain was such a factor but kudos to you all for being good sports, throwing on the ponchos and making the best of it. Looking forward to more! :goodvibes

Joining in!!! What an exciting and unique trip report! I've entered these kinds of contests and really believed no one ever won these things. :lmao: So it's really neat to read about how it played out for you.
