What and where?! Take a guess ​

I know what it is: the hidden 20,000 Leagues und the Sea submarine in Pooh's Playfull Spot in the MK. It is one of the non-Mickey hidden Mickeys!

Okey dokey! Since no one else guessed I'm revealing the correct answer that Flossbolna gave to win her wonderful, yummy virtual dole whip!

It is indeed the hidden 20,000 Leagues und the Sea submarine inside the big tree in Pooh's Playful Spot in fantasyland in MK!

I choose this because I have very fond memories of riding 20,00 leagues during my very first trip to WDW as a kid!

Pooh's Playful Spot is the playground area across from The Many Adventrues of Winnie the Pooh. It's built on top of where 20,000 leagues used to be!

I knew the hidden sub was somewhere in the playground but wasn't sure where. DD found it and was super excited! I climbed into the treehouse to take a picture!

Well, I was going to post the next element of my fun and exciting, new and improved PTR now BUT I've just seen something interesting and exciting!

Flossbolna mentioned on her PTR seeing plans and reading a rumor about all of Fantasyland being refurbed and beautified!

Apparently this rumor has been flying around the different boards and some say its a hoax, some say it's a dream senerio.

But it's now appeared on the main page of another board. I hold a lot of faith in this "other board." They are very, very careful of the things that are posted on that board and if they thought it was a hoax or some kind of someday we will.... thing they would not have allowed it to be posted at all let alone posting it with blueprints on the main page! They've deleted and censored countless posts and threads because of content that may not be accurate and may cause a stir. There are also a lot of CM's on that board, not just theme park CM's, but more "in the know" CM's.

Really, it's very, very cool! If they do it I'd be totally geeked out excited!!! Really, I'd be freaking out and finding anyway possible to get there asap when it's opened!

It shows all sorts of stuff! First and foremost Toontown is gone! Dumbo has been moved into what was toontown and there are 2 Dumbos next to each other with what says "interactive next generation queue" There is a new TS called Be Our Guest. There's an Aurora Attraction, a Cinderella Attraction, a Pixie Hollow Playzone, they've extended walls out of the back of the castle and kind of made Fantasyland 2 areas. The blue prints don't show IASW, Philharmagic and Peter Pan but apparently, from what I read, they will stay put and that's why that side of Fantasyland isn't on the blueprints.

The questions remain though, first, is it just rumor?! I read expect an annoucement this Oct! Second, when will they sart the process of re-doing an entire land?! I'm hoping I don't walk into MK in January and find half of Fantasyland closed! I wouldn't be sad if Toontown was closed but Fantasyland is WDW to us! Third, when will they be done? Seem like, like flossbolna mentioned in her PTR, it's for the 40th annivesary of WDW in 2011. Announcing in Oct of 09 gives them a full 2 years to get moving and do it!

It's very, very exciting!! Especially after seeing Flossbolna pictures of Disneyland Paris! Fantasyland at DLP is BEAUTIFUL! Much, much nicer then WDW!

I too saw the blueprints and I'm excited about it as well; Pixie Hollow doesn't appeal to me, but I'm not a Tink fan - I'm sure it will be pretty though.

I'm hoping that there will be the addition of a few rides - dark rides with this, not just pretty queues to meet the princesses.

If Ariel gets a dark ride, I would hope that VOTLM at DHS would be replaced with something else. Maybe it's me, but I don't like one character having more than one attraction.

I didn't really think about the Castle being extended-I just kinda breezed over that part. Without looking again at the blueprints, that would mean the carousel would be INSIDE the Castle walls, correct? I wonder if it will be like a courtyard area? That would be BEAUTIFUL with the carousel right there!! I am going to PM you for what site you are referring to....

It look likes a broken wall, not a whole wall, kinda of making a courtyard like you said!!! I'm so intrigued by this!!! The Disney geek in me is freaking out!

I'm not a huge Tink fan either but DD is. my kiddos love any kind of play area that they can run around and play in! DS could make a whole vacation out of the boneyard alone LOL!

I agree with you about more rides and not just queues to meet princesses! I also agree about the Little Mermaid attraction! If they do do a LM attraction I think VOTLM should be replaced! I enjoy VOTLM but I feel like like its getting a little old now and it smells like mildew in there!

I think when Disneyland opened it was only a buck!

Of course back then you had to buy ticket books for the rides...but I think even those were only like 10 cents! I wonder what that equals out to in today's money....

I'm pretty sure when WDW opened in 1971 they had the ticket books with a certain # for each ride level and if you used them you had to but more! Still, $3.50 made me laugh out loud!

Love all your scrapbook layouts...I've been trying to scrap for a while and I'm committed to doing one for our next trip...I've bought some things...I just get overwhelmed looking at everything and then......

I love the fossil photo from the old subs-I sadly never got to ride them although DH did and he loved them... When we were at DL he was all excited because they've redone their subs into Nemo submarines-they were a lot of fun...(I really liked Disneyland's Fantasyland a lot-I think it was more "substantial than MK's"...and I've seen Flossbolna's photos of DL Paris-it is beautiful...the only ? I guess is when & how they do it-I can't imagine the logistics of doing the attraction closings...

If you get a chance can you PM me where you read these things...I love reading about Disney park plans-About 6 months ago I read all about how they are redoing California Adventure including adding a whole Radiator Springs Land from Car Story (with a kind of Test Track kind of ride themed to Cars...)

I think getting overwhelmed is why it take me so long to finish a book! The almost 7 months that it took me to do the January book maybe some kind of record for me! Doing the book from our March trip digitally took very little time! Maybe try that!

The silly thing is I've only ever really scrapped WDW trips! I started a baby scrapbook for DD! She's 8 but I started it about a year and half ago. I wasnt into scrapbooking when she was a baby.

I actually have a list of the books I need to do! DD's baby book is first, then DS6's baby book and our wedding! I started our wedding last christmas as a gift to DH. He loves my scrapbooks and we didn't get really wedding albums when we got married so I knew he'd love it! DS2's I'm going to do digitally because all the pictures from when he was a baby (not that long ago ) were digital. The other 2 kiddos were mostly pictures taken with a film camera!

I read the thing about fantasyland on another site with a board so Ill pm you that! The facts I'm getting assorted books in my vast Disney Library including the 2 Lou Mongello WDW Trivia Books! There's all sorts of neat info in those books! I have a bunch of other books too that have a lot of good stuff!

Me thinks that part of the PTR is going to be a confession about how big of Disney Geek I am, including a listing of all the Disney Books I have and photos of my collection of stuff!

That really cracked me up! To think about it, really, $3.50!!!! What the heck can you even get for $3.50 at WDW!! I'm intrigued to know! I may go on a hunt in January for items $3.50 and under!! I can get postcards for less then $3.50 but what else?!

Hello all!! I'm back with an update!! A real update this time! A disney past update!

But before we get into that I have to share 2 things!

You didn't really think I was going to just give you what you actually came here for did you?! You all know me better than that

Anyway 2 things, pretty much un-disney related, have me all excited!!

1st is that DS2 is practically potty trained!!! I'm so freaking excited about this I can't tell you!!! My other 2 werent easy to train! Has showed signs for awhile that he was ready. I bought him a potty in May and he's used it once or twice a day ever since. Last week I told him I was going to by him Elmo big boy underpants!

He LOVES elmo!!! LOVES elmo!

So, i bought him a pack of Elmo and a pack of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse undies!! He loves MMCH almost as much as Elmo so he was very, very happy! He wont wear a diaper anymore! I have to trick him at night to go to bed in a diaper by putting on the diaper really quick and then putting the underwear on over it! He had 2 acidents yesterday and none today!!!!! Yippeee!!!

The 2nd thing is about me I've been slowly trying to loss weight since my thyroid surgery in May. I tried before that but my body was so screwed up that it just wasn't working and I ended up feeling worse!

So today, I'm happy to report that I've lost somewhere around 15 LBS and fit into the shorts I wore in 2005!!! Their a little tight so I won't wear them yet but they fit!!! This time last year I could even pull them up!!

After I quit my last job I gained a lot of weight because I didn't know what to do with myself being a SAHM so I ate

Im so, so, so excited!!!!!! My actual weight doesn't really matter much to me. Just the way I feel and look and the size I fit into!!

Anyway, I know you guys want the real stuff so I'll get on with it!!

So now moving on with Disney Past! For real this time!

I left off after our Oct 06 trip! I was happily pregnant with DS Ryan who is now 2!

I knew we wanted to return to WDW. I knew I needed to return to WDW!

But I knew it would have to wait what I thought was a reasonable amount of time after Ryan’s birth to go again!

In the spring of 07 DH, who as you may know sails competitively, was invited to sail in the sunfish world championships. I was so happy for him and he was so excited! But that meant a week away in the middle of August! Ryan was due the beginning of June! A week alone with 3 kids, one of them 2 months old! Hmmm!

I agreed that he should go but on one condition! We get a vacation in March 08 when Ryan would be 9 months old and I thought he’d be a little easier to travel with! I didn’t mention WDW because I thought DH would say no. DH is the one who said WDW!!! In early planning DH, not me, mentioned staying at a monorail resort because it would easier with a baby!

What had happened to my DH?! Was he a Disney Freak in the making?!

Also in early planning we discovered that MIL, FIL, SIL and her DH all want to go too! So we had a Magical Gathering in the making!

Planning took a back seat for a little while when Ryan was born 5/30/07!

But, I was soon back in the swing of planning again!

We decided to stay at Poly because it was a monorail resort and it seemed to best suit us! But in Sept 07 2008 rates still hadn’t come out and I was able to make ADR’s!

We had places to eat but no place to stay!

But that soon followed and our booking window for Southwest was also quickly upon us!

Everything was all set! Airline tickets, hotel reservations, ADR’s etc! The only thing left to do was wait! Ho hum!

Christmas 08 we went to PA for a few days to visit my parents and when we arrived home we found a letter in our mail for WDW saying all sorts of stuff about how Poly is beautiful and wonderful and we’ll love it blah, blah, blah. Then it said but the volcano pool is going to be closed during your stay!

Within 5 minutes of us walking in the door I had phone calls from both MIL and SIL asking what I thought, as the Disney expert, we should do. The letter did say we could use the beach pool at GF. But really, did we want to have to walk down the beach from Poly to GF to use the pool?! What if we got a room in the Tahiti longhouse or one of longhouse all the way by TTC?! That’s a long walk for a swim! So we decided to try to change resorts.

At first we were going to change to WL because we really, really love WL and it would be cheaper. But then DH suggested GF! My DH! Frugal Fred! He suggested GF!

I called and checked the price and it wasn’t too much more then we were going to pay to stay at Poly! I wasn’t about to spend other people’s money in such a way so I ran the idea past MIL and SIL and they were all for it!

WOW! Were we really going to stay at GF! Yes, oh yes, we were!!

March came quickly with a new baby in house and we were soon on our way to WDW!!

We made it though Ryan’s first plane ride with flying colors and were soon on our way to GF!

Upon arrival at GF we got a full dose of Disney Magic! We had been upgraded to concierges! Wooo hoo!!

We had a wonderful trip! Staying in Sugar Loaf Concierges at GF was wonderful! DD turned 7 the second day of our trip, March 9th, and her and I spent the morning together having breakfast at 1900 Park Fare and doing BBB in the castle!
During the trip we ate at Spirit of Aloha, Chef Mickey’s (on DD birthday), HDDMR (FIL’s fav), Hollywood and Vine, CP, and Fulton’s (on DH birthday!)
DH’s birthday is March 14th, which was the last full day of our trip and I had planned on leaving the kiddos with MIL and taking DH on the KTTK tour for his birthday. But both of the boys got sick! Really, really sick! I opted out of KTTK and was luckily able to send FIL in my place! DH and FIL had a great time on KTTK! Johnny and Ryan unfortunately had to be visited by a doctor in the room because they were sooooo sick! Both had 103 fevers! Luckily the concierges were able to give us the name of service that sends doctors to you and we didn’t have to take 2 sick kiddos to the walkin place. The doctor was fantastic ! Turns out Ryan had an ear infection and Johnny has bronchitis! The doctor must have dusted them with pixie dust because once they got their first dose of antibiotics, which he gave them before he left, they were well on their way to recovery and wanting out of the room!

During this trip we were also able to take advantage of some of the Magical Gatherings experiences! We did the Wishes Magical Fireworks Cruise on DD’s birthday and The Illuminations Dinner and Desert Reception at Epcot! Both were wonderful and we wouldn’t hesitate to do them again!

We also did the Pirates and Princess Party! It was a lot of fun! DS got to met Capt Jack in person which was worth the price of admission all by itself and we got to see the phenomenal P&P fireworks! But, P&P kinda feel a little flat in comparison to MNSSHP! It was fun but we wouldn’t go out of our way to do it again if they ever start offering it again. We’d go if they had it during our trip but wouldn’t plan a whole trip just for that.

We had a wonderful trip despite the illness and truly had lots of Disney magic sprinkled upon us!!
