Bonus Trip with thanks to Mixednuts

31st January 2009 - 2nd February 2009

Pre Trip

The Cast

Me (John) - 26 year old who loves Disney Pixar films and has an unhealthy obsession for Toy Story and all things Toy Story related. Has been going to DLRP ever since my first trip in 1992 when my Dad was part of the Opening Crew, he was the poor sausage who was in charge of putting all the light bulbs on the Mad Hatters Tea Cup ride. Has also been to Disney World Florida three times but much prefers DLRP.

DW (Ellie) - 25 year old Disney lover who doesn't even try and pretend that she dislikes Disney, not too pleased with her husbands love of Disney Pixar as she prefers the classics films.

DS (Kacee) - 18 month old dribble monkey who loves “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse”, “Handy Manny” and “My Friends Tigger and Pooh” and can already say 'Mickey', 'Oh Toodles' and can name the entire cast of “My Friends Tigger and Pooh”.

Trip Details

Well a very kind lady, called Mixednuts offered tickets on the Eurostar for free on the DIS boards. I was very, very lucky to win the tickets. Ellie decided to come with us after much umming and aarrghing and we booked the Eurostar as soon as the tickets came through and then it was a case of trying to find a Hotel that was not too expensive however was easy to get to and from with no car. We tried all of the onsite hotels however the cheapest being the Sequia Lodge (bizzarly) topping the scales at a healthy £335.00! I found the Kyriad at Disneyland Paris with a free shuttle and free continental breakfast for £125 instead!! We were all ready to book this and then I found the Santa Fe for one night for £86 including Half Board vouchers, so we are staying in the Kyriad Hotel on the Saturday night and then transferring to the Santa Fe Hotel for the Sunday night. A bit of a mission for an 8 month pregnant woman but she wanted to do it, plus we get a half board voucher so that's at least one meal we aren't having in McDonalds!!

Trip Goals

* Meet and greet with Winnie the Pooh that I keep promising to take Kacee to.
* Finally take Kacee on a Main Street vehicle, as I keep promising that and everytime I try and take him on one it has stopped running.
* Loads of people watching as Ellie won't be running around.
* Finally get into Pin-Trading (a trip goal everytime)

great plans john.

the winnie the pooh meet and greet is great i have a lovely video of ash meeting pooh and giggling and trying to push him over lol. you have to bring kacee to that.

I'll certainly try this time! He just struggles with the queueing when he can see the characters!

ash was the same but one morning after emh i saw a queue starting at around ten to ten (he was there at ten) so i joined that and we werent waiting long at all.

ash really wanted to see the princess but that queue :scared:

Have a great trip. Wish we were going back so soon!

If you manage to get to the Pooh meet and greet Kacee will love it, the queue is very orderly, we didn't have any pushing or shoving! Worst part was almost getting to the front and they went for a 2 minute break - but they were back within 2 minutes as promised! Don't know if its the same each day but we had Pooh, Tigger and Eyeore.

good plan!!!!
with a bit of luck the pooh meet will have eeyore & tigger, so kacee will be in his element!!!!

and go for it with the pin trading - then u can tell me how easy it was ;) :rotfl:

there seemed to be a few days when Winnie the Pooh did a meet and greet in Seqioa Lodge when we were there in summer so if you could always check at reception here

Sounds great! Hope you enjoy your trip, we are going in two weeks! :earsgirl:

John, have a great trip. Riding on one of the mainstreet vehicles was one thing we missed doing last time - we will definitely do it next time. I hope Ellie copes with all the walking - I can predict a few breaks at the coffee shops.;)

Have a great trip. I hadn't realised this trip was happening, so have just read up on it on the main board. We queued for Pooh last week for 1 1/2 hours. I didn't think it would take that long. Eeyore & Tigger were with him & they spent ages with each set of people, so be prepared for a long wait! It was all worth it though to see my 2 yr old hugging them again & again.

Got my pin traders through from eBay last night so we are all go for pin trading on this trip :cool1:

Also borrowed a mates portable DVD player for distracting Kacee while on the Eurostar tomorrow too! Also means that the Mrs and I can spend the evenings watching Russel Howard, Frankie Boyle and Micheal McIntyre!!

ooo exciting a last minute trip

your wife is a very very brave lady lol i am so jealous of your 3 trips this year
