Animal Kingdom in the cold. 11/18
Dropped hubby off at the airport at 6:30am. I had some breakfast and got to AK before opening. I forgot that today was an early entry day for onsite guests. I would have changed my day if I had known. But it was really not very crowded in the park. I still had no waits for anything. It could have been due to the fact that it was COLD that morning, about 39 degrees in Orlando. I had on both a sweatshirt & jacket and I like to be cool. So if I had that much on you know it was cold.
Headed to Primeval Whirl first because it was new to me. I can understand why some people call it primeval hurl. It's not something I would do too many times. Next it was dinasaur. It worked out that I was the only person in my whole car. Guess it would have made a nice picture but I didn't buy the picture. I think it loses some excitement when you are all alone. I'm not a screamer but listening to someone scream adds more thrill to the ride.
On to Safari. No wait here either. But all the animals seem to be at a distance, nothing up close. I think they're all huddled together for warmth. I do like the bridge working again, it wasn't last January.
Caught the 11am Lion King show. Boy those seats were cold and hard but the show is worth it.
Lunchtime now, bought the $11.99 meal deal and ate at the Bar B que place. The ribs were good. And that's quite a deal actually. The price of the meal alone came to almost $11 and I still had an ice cream and bottle of water to get. I wish all the parks had such a deal.
Did I mention it was cold today? Eventually it warmed to about 70 but I didn't start peeling off layers for quite awhile.
I headed back to my room about 2pm to rest and returned to Epcot by 4:30. I went straight to the Imagination ride, gotta love that figment. Next it was Mexico, china, a turkey leg, the movie in France (my favorite movie), and I couldn't bypass a French pastry from the bakery. I also made a stop in Japan to pick up some more lucky cats. I already have white, black and gold. I see they have a lot more colors in the size cat that I have. I bought pink & yellow. I will probably get the red & green ones before I leave. Can't find the elusive silver one.
Didn't stay for illuminations that night, too cold.
Sidenote: The Corolla I was driving had a door opener on the keychain. Not that big a deal to most folks but I never had one before. I noticed on the back of that keychain was a "panic button". I didn't know what that was for and had no intention of finding out. Well the best of intentions... That night when I got back to the hotel I pushed it by accident, didn't even know I did it in fact. Well all hell broke loose, horn blared, lights flashed, I swear the car was jumping up and down. I quickly figured out what I had done and hit the button again. Calm. Hope the people in the room near me weren't asleep.
Next: But this is not my pass!
