11/13 Musings at the airport.

I'm not afraid of flying on the 13th. After all it's not friday and I'm not in row 13. But as with any trip I take lately there is always the "what if" and "why am I doing this"? Because I'm a traveler and can't be stuck behind four walls. Besides the disney bug has bitten and the only relief from the itch is when I set foot in Disney World.
So I'm here waiting to board my flight, watching the local entertainment. I see a young family, 2 kids. The little boy has just spilled half his corn chips on the floor. Well that will be a fine mess, no wait, Mom makes him pick them up, good mom. Various people talking quietly except for the man on his cell phone. Why is it that cell phone talkers are so loud? Now he is joined by another and another. Maybe I should make my own call so I don't look conspicuous.
It's a half hour before the flight, no plane at the gate yet. It's gonna be hard to leave if there is no plane. And the phones keep ringing. Does no one have a vibrate setting on their phone? Is it not "cool" to set it on vibrate? Guess I don't know the proper cell phone etiquette.
There is this couple (guy in a big black texas hat), sounds like they may be fighting. Somebody forgot something and it's getting a little tense. There is an older couple seated next to me, kind of grumpy. Complaining to each other about somebody, maybe their son, "trying to pull the wool over our eyes".
The plane just arrived at the gate, 20 minutes before departure time. A USAirways employee just emerged from the gate carrying a box of human eyes for surgery, never saw that before. The flight left only 7 minutes late. Not a full flight, I had a whole row to myself. One baby on board, never heard a peep. After we landed in Charlotte I grabbed a quick bite. While waiting at the gate a girl sat next to me who smelled like she had bathed in perfume. Why do some women do that? Fragrance should be subtle, not hit you like a brick. Fortunately she didn't sit next to me on the next flight.
The flight was not crowded and arrived on time. I took my time getting off, strolled to the baggage claim just as my bag emerged. Headed to L&M car rental. Very quick, curteous, no line pick up. They did not try to upsell me or make me purchase insurance. Didn't even check my proof of insurance. I had reserved an economy car and used a free upgrade coupon so I ended up with a very nice Toyota Corolla.
Drove to my priceline hotel, Hyatt Orlando, $35/night. Nothing special about the room. Good enough for the price. I may have air conditioner issues later though, time will tell. After unpacking I went to dinner at the Atlantic Seafood Restaurant near the hotel. Again, nothing special about the restaurant except the garlic mashed potatoes that were excellent. Later I went to the Permier Outlets at LIttle Lake Bryan. Checked out the Character store & Universal outlet. Didn't buy anything but may go back. Left for the hotel and hopefully a good nights sleep.

Tomorrow: No sleep, safe won't open, and happy birthday to me.

Glad you made it down safe and sound. Cant wait to hear more. :)
