I know that the Swan and Dolphin offer a teacher discount, but I just heard about a teacher discount at Bonnet Creek, too. Has anyone ever used that?

No, but we are planning on staying there in April. Glad I saw this, I will ask.....although I did mention I teach and the owner do not say anything. But maybe that is because of looking to book through owner on vrbo.com and not directly through BC?

Bonnet Creek does not directly rent anything.

Most rentals come from individual owners who probably would not offer discounts.

Other rentals come from subsidiary companies of Wyndham: RCI, government employee or armed Forces Rental (forget official name and exact affilication), Extra Holidays, and I'm probably missing a couple. Some of these may offer discounts, I don't know.

Edit: though you were referring to the timeshares and not hotels

I have stayed at the Hilton at Bonnet Creek with a teacher discount. It was $109 per night. The resort is very nice and has an incredible pool. IF you go to the Hilton site you have to choose Gov under special rate codes.

I believe the OP is talking about the Hilton Bonnet Creek, not the Wyndham.

And, Wyndham does rent some Bonnet Creek inventory directly---for example, some owners will try to rent their timeshare assets through the Extra Holidays program. Wyndham advertises it, and takes a cut of the proceeds. That inventory often also makes its way onto expedia etc.

Yep my posting did mention these as the subsidiary companies. I have even seen some listed on Costco's travel website.

Aha! I did not know there were other BC's. Good to know.

Bonnet Creek is the name of the whole little resort area. While the Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort (timeshare) is the oldest [first] and largest property there, the resort area includes the Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort, the Wyndham Grande Orlando at Bonnett Creek (hotel), The Hilton Bonnet Creek (hotel), and the Waldorf Astoria.... as well as the Waldorf/Hilton's Golf course.

Thank you!

Yes the Hilton and Waldorff opened in the last year and 18 months so most on the board are generally referring to the Wyndham resorts. The Wyndham grand is not timeshare, and rents like any other hotel, the resort does direct rent some condos and suites as well.
