We stayed at Bonnet Creek in December, and would love to stay there again for our Mardi Gras 2009 trip. We booked through Hotels.com for that trip. I've been in contact with 2 different owners through myresortnetwork.com. I've got prices ranging from $175 - $230 per night. I'm a little nervous about renting direct and not knowing the owner. I've also been told that if I wait until 60 days before my trip, there are deeper discounts.

I'd like to know if I should wait or book now. Do you think there will be availability for Feb 20-25, 2009??? There's no availability according to BC's website. Has anyone had luck through VRBO.

For those of you who've rented from an owner and were pleased with their service, please PM me their info.

TIA for the help and advice!!!

Depending on how many points the owner has, they get different discounts within 60 days. Bonnet Creek, however, is usually full well before the 60 days. There are 3 other resorts in the Disney Area (Star Island is one) and you might do better going here

I think it depends on whether you'd be willing to stay somewhere else if need be. However, if you really want 5 nights, you have to wait until 90 days in advance anyway. That's prime season, and to reserve more than 90 days in advance, you must book 3, 4, or 7 nights, starting or ending on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.

I just checked their website and it is showing availability for your dates. Did you go to www.wyndhambonnetcreek.com? I think a 2 bedroom was like $260 a night with AAA. You can reserve direct through there if you feel more comfortable.

Good luck to you.

Hi,

I'm a owner at Bonnet Creek (Wyndham Vacation Resorts).

You didn't specify what size of room you are looking for but just like DVC staying on the weekends cost more. So I'm guessing the prices they quoted you took that into concideration.

While there is always a risk renting from a private party most of the time you can save a bundle of money that makes the vacation more affordable. So you would have to weigh out the risk vs the savings. I rented from owners of both DVC and Fairfield (Wyndham) a couple times before we bought. I used Tug2.net to find my Bonnet Creek rentals and this site for when I stayed at DVC. While Tug2.net might not show the dates you are looking for it doesn't hurt to contact the member to see if they can book the dates you need.

It's too bad this site still doesn't allow member to post offsite rentals in the Orlando area as most are a way better value than what Disney has to offer.

Hope this helps and Good luck in your search...
