Hi!
I just found out that we will most likely be staying in the Bonita tower, on the 8th floor, parking lot side. Is it really that bad?? We are thrilled to be staying at the DLH, but have read posts on the parking lot views that are not very promising.

What do you think?? What are the Pros of that location??

Thanks everyone

Just wondering who advised you of your tower and floor location? Also, what type of view did you pay for? Standard, Premium, Club?

We stayed on the 9th floor with a parking lot view and it wasn't that great. We were there for DD's dance competition and that must be where groups are put. We were on the end farthest from the parks and had we been on the other side of the elevator banks, we would have had a partial view of DCA. While we were disappointed, there isn't a balcony so we couldn't sit outside. The lobby is beautiful and plays great Disney music. We took books & the paper down to the lobby to read one day.

We were in roughly that same location our first trip to Disneyland. It didn't bother me much, we were there to see and experience the parks and didn't spend much time looking out the window anyway. The bonus is that the rooms are lovely and oversized and its fun being immersed in Disney magic. Its not the best view (but its not awful either) but I am betting you will still have a great stay anyhow! Frankly I would gladly be looking out a parking lot view window right now instead of looking at all the leaves that need to be raked in my front yard! Have a great trip!

No one personally advised us of a floor location, i think that is part of the problem with why we are at where we are. We booked 2- three bedroom suites over a year ago with AAA (one of there packages). There are 6 couples with kids, so this appealed to us to help aid in getting 6 rooms close together. When i was doing my research the AAA site list the suites as upper level suites, and with no option to upgrade a suite online to a premium view, i ASSUMED(first mistake) that it would get somewhat of a priority with view. Now that we are 21 days away from disneyland i was arranging stuff with vacation planning and they advised me of our suite location. I have to admit i was kind of bummed to begin with. I know, i know it is better then being at home, better then being at work, etc..., but i just had to get the opinions of others so i was prepared at arrival so i knew what to expect.

I have talked with vacation planning about noting on our reservation about a upgrade to the waterfall side of the tower, but i am not counting on that. Let me make myself clear on something also. I am thrilled to be at the disneyland hotel, our suite location will not put a damper on our trip, and we will not be spending hours staring out our window popcorn:: . Again, i am just one of those people that like to have all the info up front and know somewhat to expect. I am glad i found out though, if i had been expecting a great location with excellent view that might have been a little disapointing at first.

sorry about the length of this post, and thank you for your input. I love it!

oh, and if it matters, Suite one is room #s 2668, 2669, 2671. Suite two is room #s 2698, 2699, 2697. Just typing our room #'s gives me the Disneyland butterflys:)

I like staying in the Bonita tower last trip, walking by the waterfalls is very pretty, just don't let you kids accidently drop you key in them :rotfl: . It really happend to us! The walk is an extra 3 to 5 minutes , Have a great trip!

I didn't mean to make you at all feel that I was saying you would be spending all your time looking out the window! I know its a disappointment because out of the three towers there is only one side of one tower that is not exactly desireable and you would think that making those reservations so far out you wouldn't end up with it! As I recall, what we were mostly looking at from about where you will be was a neighborhood and a parking lot. So not that awful view you get at some places (as in industrial type view or something along those lines) but not exactly a Disney view either. Hopefully vacation planning will come through for you guys and get you that upgrade. On the bright side, the Bonita is my favorite tower, I love walking through the waterfalls each day and night. Good luck!

P.S. Is AAA still doing the unlimited fastpass perk with packages?

No worries, I knew you didn't mean that. I have a pretty sarcastic nature, sometimes i forget what i put in writing might come off more serious then if it were a face to face conversation.

Yes, we will have the AAA fastpass, but i believe that january is the last month they will offer it. I am not an expert i just noticed that they were not mentioned in the 2007 packages.

KWilliams: I sent you a PM.

Hope it helps, but there no 3 bedroom suites in Bonita that face the parking lot. They all face the pool area. There are some that have a connecting room that does, but not the suite. Did they give you the suite numbers? 26__?

Interesting, I had read somewhere that all the even numbered rooms face the pool area, or inside to the grounds and the odd numbers face the outside. Having a suite with 1 even #'s and 2 odd thru me off. I am visualizing the rooms wrapping around the corners of the tower. I guess we will see in 20 days!! :cool1:

I love researching little things like this, it keeps me well occupied until we leave.
