How spicy is the food at Boma? I'm not a real spicy food person. and my DH would love to go and I have looked at the menu but it just sounds spicy to me. Am I reading too much into the menu?

I'd describe most of their food as spiced but not spicy hot if that's what you're worried about. Many items have coconut, peanut, ginger, coriander, cumin, curry and cinnamon.

There is such a variety of food at Boma's you should be able to find things that aren't spicy. It's our favorite restaurant. Besides I would say the food is really spicy (like hot pepper) as much as it's tangy (like vinegar) and unusual with the spices they use.

Thank you
I was hoping that was the answer I would receive. Spicy hot is just not me!

Boma's flavor/aroma isn't a hot spice, but rather a unique yet mild blend of many different spices. I never tasted anything there that I would put in the hot category. It is on my must do list from now on!

Enjoy!

Went to Boma's last Tuesday and it was once again excellent! We will return again in October.

I'm a very picky eater and have found plenty to eat at Boma. Their Prime Rib is excellent.

We went to Boma in January... as others have said, the food uses some spices which are a little different than what you might be used to. I personally like spicey mexican or chinese food, but can not hanlde indian or AFRICAN food (as I found out at Boma). Anyway, if you have a sensitive stomach to some spicey food, be very careful while eating there. I really enjoyed the soups and dessert, but most of the main dishes weren't that great. Plus, they made me pretty sick! :)

Good luck,
KEVIN

We loved Boma--something for everyone. My husband and I are adventurous and tried all the African food; my son gorged on prime rib (a buffet is a great place to take a prime rib lover!); my other, younger son ate typical kidfood (chicken fingers, jello, rolls, etc); my heart-patient father in law found food safe for him; and my pickier-than-a-kid mother in law filled up on macaroni and cheese and spaghetti! (I still laugh over that $23 plate of M&C!) But hey, she was paying for it. I feel my family got our money's worth. We're definitely going back on our next trip in August.

I'm not going to address everything that everyone else already wrote, but I *AM* going to say that Boma is my new favorite restaraunt at WDW. I was there July 2003, and it was absolutely fantastic, even better than my brother-in-law's cooking, and he's a pro chef. It's not cheap, but worth every penny. No, it's not spicy, it's totally unique, and there are so many things to try that you get your money's worth! It is a new 'must do' on my WDW list!!!

I absolutely agree, I will never go back to the world without at least one visit to the Boma.....

Not only is the buffet awesome, the hotel is a great place to visit, and the gift shop at the AKL too!!

Don't miss the Boma!!
