Trying to decide between Boma and Yak&Yeti for dinner?

Any opinions...LOL.

Boma..............
Yak and yeti is good but most of it is somewhat Chinese food and the upper end of the menu is just not very good IE shrimp- it is still a chain owner restaurant.
Boma is somewhat of an upper end Buffet -- they will have beef cooked over a wood fire being cooked and cut as you order salmon, chicken which I can not say I ever tried and other things which can vary like meat pie-beef which was good -- and the usual with African inspired twists soups(very good), salads etc... it is very good buffet by far the best at Disney.. please add Disney price as well... do not let the African inspired turn you off as it is just that inspired not what you would think African food would be...

Boma is a buffet, louder and very people intensive.
Yak&Yeti is table service, quiet and peaceful.
I like them both.

Boma is truly the food experience with many interesting and different dishes.
With teens especially I think you will more than enough get your monies worth -
well on Disney prices scale that is. ;)

I vote Boma.

Boma for sure. Have you considered Tusker House? It's very good, similar to Boma and right in the AK.

Good point if you will be in AK and leaving would impact your plans.

Boma is SO much better than Yak&Yetti! But, if you would rather not leave AK, try Tusker House at AK Park.

We like them both! I would suggest considering lunch at Yak and Yeti on a day you'll be at AK, then dinner (on another day) at Boma.

I agree with the others. The food at Boma is better (though we like Y&Y, too). If you don't want to leave AK, I would definitely consider doing TH instead.

Definitely Boma, and it's not even particularly close. I'd only pick Yak & Yeti if you were determined to stay inside the park and refuse to eat at a buffet.

We love both and have them both booked for our next trip. Have a look at the menu and see what most appeals. Or as allsaintsatx suggests, go with which ever is easiest to get to.

We love Boma and have done breakfast and dinner there many times but think we are going to try Yak and Yeti for a late lunch this time. We have never eaten there and will be with my dad (in his late 80's). He is really good getting around but I think we are going to try to do some more sit down places this trip (will make it easier then him having to get up).

Yak & Yeti… by far.

Obviously, I am in the minority when it comes to Boma, bu I found it to have poor service and gross food. It may have been an off night for Boma, but I didn’t like it to the point where I don’t think I would ever go back.

Yak & Yeti is my favorite place to eat in WDW. It is the only "absolutely-have-to-have-must-do" for my wife and I.

OP we had the same question and after much debate decided on Boma. We are really looking forward to it! Enjoy!

Tried Yak and Yeti for the first time this past trip, never been to Boma but can definitely say we won't be back to Yak and Yeti, service was ok, food IMO was higher quality takes on typical chinese takeout. Out of the two I'd personally try Boma, but if I was picking somewhere to eat in AKL I'd pick Sanaa.

Having been to all other AKL restaurants other than Boma my favorite is Sanaa, even over Jiko (never thought I'd say that). Their bread service alone is hard to beat, however their dinner menu is a little "adventurous" compared to their lunch menu, Yak and Yeti, and Boma.

Another plus is after dinner you can head right out to the savannah observation deck after dinner and check out animals with some (provided) night vision goggles they have a fire going and have heard they also do s'mores although we've never done it.

If you're staying at AKL, then of course Boma!

If you're at DAK and don't want to leave the park, Yak & Yeti.

I've enjoyed our two dinners at Boma greatly, but sometimes it's just a pain to go to another resort just to eat.

That being said, if you have never been to AKL, I'd say go, get there early so you can walk around a bit and take in the atmosphere. That's what we did first time, and just a couple months later I stayed there! I was sold.

Also, though, do you like buffets? Yes, they're a bit louder. You have to go get your food.

The food is really great at Boma, and they have things that you may have not tried before, plus a lot for folks that like plain food too.

I've actually never eaten at Yak & Yeti, but we do eat at the CS place every trip (DD and I like it).

Really it's apples and oranges, and depends on how you want to spend your time. Now that I've stayed at AKL 3 times and Kidani also once, I don't need to go back ever!
