Hi,

Okay I've heard really good things about both places!! I'm going to WDW in May & will be there for 3 days. Please tell me which is better & why, or should I bite the bullet & do both?

Thanks,

We ate at both when we were there last May. Personally, I liked Boma a lot better. I thought the food was better. 'Ohana was good, and I would go back but it is not one I would do every trip like Boma which I would have a hard time passing up. That said, if you are not an adventurous eater, 'Ohana would be better. (Although my kids said Boma was the best, and they only ate at the "American" kid stations.) Boma's food is much more unique while my meat was a little dry at 'Ohana. There is some kid's entertainment at 'Ohana, but you can walk around and see animals after your meal at Boma. You really can't go wrong at either!

That's easy. Boma. Food is better, atmosphere is better. CM's are nicer. Ohana was crowded, all the food is smoked/barbequed.

I have to agree, Boma is better. You will love the variety and atmosphere of this restaurant.

Hi,

Thanks guys!! That's where I was leaning but wanted to be sure!! Keep the opinions coming!!!

Sorry, I must say Ohana! We tried Boma in '02 and it was so-so. We visited Ohana 11/28, and loved it! Another plus for Ohana, even though they have some interactive fun, it isn't nearly as loud as Boma! Not to mention that the atmosphere is better there! ;)

Did both last September and while we enjoyed both, we found Boma to be the better of the two. The soups and desserts at Boma were out of this world and just about a meal in themselves. We'd do 'Ohana again, but we're not rushing to go back.

As a non-red meat eater I found Boma's to have a lot more to offer. Ohana seemed very meat oriented.

We just returned and ate at both and I have to say that I enjoyed Ohana much better than Boma. Boma's spices and flavoring were just not my style. The food at Ohana was great. I love it when they bring out the hot towels to wash your hands off. We were also fortunate enough to catch Wishes while we were eating and had a perfect view of the castle. They dimmed the lights and piped in the music. It was GREAT!!!:)

I ate at both during my last trip and I'd have to go with Boma. There is SO much more to choose from at Boma and the food is terrific. At 'Ohana the food is good, but it does get repetitive. There is so much more variety in flavor, texture, etc at Boma that I would definitely choose it over 'Ohana. However, if you are a picky eater that might be a consideration in making you choose 'Ohana.

Count me as one who ate at both on my last trip too. While I enjoyed Boma I don't think I'll go back - just too many "different" tastes at one time. O'Hana's on the other hand will be a "don't miss" for us every trip we make from now on.

I ate at both (for the first time) on my visit in October and if I could pick only one, I'd pick Boma.

Don't get me wrong, I liked Ohana and wouldn't mind going back at all, especially at non peak hours, but I found the whole business with the children's games around the tables a bit noisy and distracting.

Food was delicious, but the atmosphere was very intense -- lots of kids, lots of tables close together, lots of waitstaff hurrying all around. We saw Wishes as well, but all the children raced to the window and I felt bad for the people who had window tables who suddenly had a dozen children jammed between their tables.

Boma, on the other hand, was much more calm and conducive to enjoying a leisurely meal. Lots of delicious food to choose from, clear aisles to walk through, etc.

I'll definitely go back to Boma several times each visit (breakfast and a couple of dinners). One visit to Ohana for the week would be sufficient.

Good Post!
We ate at both places our last trip, Ohana for the first time. Boma has been a must-do on every trip. DH and I love it. The food was better at Boma, however DD LOVED Ohana and the games for the kids.
If kids are going with you I would consider Ohana over Boma, if your kids are adventurous or if it's a party with adults (also need to be adventurous) Boma would be the way to go.

Must try Boma...if you don't like the food The chef will prepare something for you....I will guarantee it will make your nite very memorable. Also they hang new dumper (of corse nice one) to make the oise reduce...if u not back since 2002 u need to come back again......Tj::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

We went to both in March and preferred O'Hana. After a day in the parks, it was nice to just sit at our table and have someone bring the food to us. It was also quieter. I have read complaints about the food at O'Hana being dry, but that was not the case the night we visited. We just found it more relaxing than Boma, and we had a great view of the castle from our table.

We ate at both when we were there October and i'd go for Boma's as well -- great soups mmmmm ( we tried all of them lol )

jj...... :p
