We have all our reservations made but the last night. We are torn between Boma and Ohana. Help us choose, please! Thanks, Janice

I,m trying Boma but haven't tried either I liked the different foods at Boma and wanted to try them!

If your last day is a MK day, you may want to consider O'Hana. It's close to and an easy trip via monorail to the Poly. I prefer the food of Boma--but for the last night, I'd pick O'Hana with it's proximity to MK and the fun and games for the kids. If you don't have any kids--I'd do Boma. :goodvibes

We just got back last week and have done both Boma and Ohana for the last two trips, but will be crossing Ohana off the list in future. Service was terible and food choices and quality seemed way down. Boma, on the other hand, was great as usual. HTH.

We are leaning towards Boma(I've been dying to try a Zebra Dome)so thanks for helping with the decision. Janice

Both are great! Choice one this trip and the other on your next trip.

I know I'm going against the grain, here, but we did not like BOMA AT ALL. The line for this buffet was the worst in our 10 days of TS's. I love 'different' foods, but this was just gross.

....and we LOVED O'hana...

go figure.

I agree with Ohana. At Boma we found a hair in their potatoes and everything went downhill after that.
Ohana has always been fantastic- food and atmosphere.

Another vote for Ohana. We hateds Boma. I know we're in the minority.... but we felt like it was a complet waste.

My cousin just got back from a Thanksgiving and everyone in their party hated BOMA. She also said the atmosphere was terrible too.
We just canceled that reservation because out of 7 people in their party, not one single person liked it.

Ohana, on the other hand is.....unlimited steak, chicken, etc on a stick. Although our service was terrible, the food and atmosphere was to die for.
The desert is one of my favorites to date.

We absolutely LOVED Boma's (with two out of three of my group being very picky). The food was good, some was excellent, our server was terrific, the decor wonderful, and (all) staff very pleasant! We liked the opening ceremony (we had 4:00 reservations I believe), the drumming, the animals outside, and the lodge itself. It got busier the longer we were there so early reservations might be a good choice?! We are going back to WDW in 2008 and scheduling boma's twice!:thumbsup2

We've tried both and unanimously prefer 'Ohana (we've had 3 GREAT experiences there, though it seems to be hit-or-miss by what I read on this board). We didn't love Boma, but maybe it was just an "off" night for us, and we plan to try it again sometime in the future...when we eventually stay at AKL (in other words, we won't go out of our way again).

'Ohana has a lovely view of MK and sit-down service; There are no "choices" for food, but many things are served, so you would probably find something you like. There are activities to keep kids occupied, if that's a factor.

Boma is a buffet, so you have to serve yourself, but there are many different types of food to choose from.

AKL and the Poly are both worth exploring. Have you ever been to either resort? If not, choose by which resort you'd like to explore more...and you can see Wishes and EWP from the Poly beach after dinner! (Nice way to end a vacation).

If you don't visit Disney World but once a year or less, definitely do Ohana over Boma. It's much more of a quintessential Disney experience, in terms of the ambiance, entertainment, and location.

Now, having said that, if what you're the most concerned with is food quality, Boma is way better.

But I think you'll enjoy Ohana. The kids will like it.

I would choose 'Ohana...we loved it!! the view is spectacular and you can watch the fireworks from the beach after dinner. This was my dks favorite dining experience and I have a very picky teen dd!

I also vote WAY thumbs up for Boma. With that said, I do feel Boma has changed over the last two years. It is now packed with people and often children and just running amok, and I do mean running. I am so afraid of tripping or running into one of them and their getting hurt. I have found the service has gone from splendid to much more casual; dirty plates aren't just whisked away, drinks are gone before being refilled. However, I still feel it is among the best food on WDW property.
If you have children, there is little doubt in my mind they will enjoy O'Hana's more. The atmosphere is festive and cheerful. There is certainly plenty to eat, but I found the meats to be very, very very well done--and that may be how your family likes them. I've never had good service at O'Hana.

I was so excited to try Boma on our trip last April. It was not good, and none of us liked the food. It ranked at the bottom of our list. Next time we will try Ohana.

Our favorite was Biergarten in Epcot. We went there the day after Boma and were pleasantly surprised at how good it was.

We went to 'Ohana in August and Boma last month and it's Boma all the way. We didn't like 'Ohana at all. They stuck us in the back where you can't see anything and the food wasn't great. The meats were dry and we didn't like the dessert.

We found lots of things we liked at Boma and they had a lot of desserts to choose from. Even my picky DS filled his plate with food 3 times.
