In the three times we've been to WDW, I don't think we have ever had a breakfast that wasn't quickly scarfing something down from the food court before sprinting down the side walk to a bus to the respective park o' the day. I mean, honestly, it was actually like a two-fisted waffle maneover :rolleyes1 . (its a skill really ;) ). So this year I thought, after browsing through the Disney Food Pics (aka Food Porn) Thread, that maybe it was a nice idea (one day later in the week when we are not trying to spend as many hours as possible in the parks) to slow down and grab some nice breakfast at a resort. Any comments would be greatly appreciated. I was thinking between these two because Boma is the nice buffet and well, Kona almost solely because of Tonga Toast.
Thanks!

Two great restaurants! If you just want to sit and relax and have someone wait on you, then go to Kona (try the pineapple macadamia nut pancakes). If you want a variety of great buffet food, then go to Boma. Try them both!

I don't think you can go wrong with either one. That's a tough choice. I agree with the PP, table service vs. buffet might be a preference for you.

Mmm...tonga toast & kona french press...mmm....french toast & frunch....

Last trip we had Boma twice for breakfast and it was the BEST!

They are both awesome! If it were me though, like Stitcheriffic, I'd go to Kona. Tonga Toast rocks!!! Be sure to get the French press of Kona coffee, too.

Tough choice, I love them both. The Tonga Toast pushes me slightly towards Kona thought. We always do them both:)

Boma is fine if you want basic breakfast buffet that you can get anywhere at WDW. It has good food. But Kona, is just a step above the usual buffet food. They have yummy yummy food, Tonga Toast, Big Kahuna, French Toast...it's all good. It also usually feels pretty cheap compared to other places. When you are used to buffet prices, and character buffets at that, Kona is a nice breath of fresh air. It's one of our favorites.

I vote Kona. It has wonderful food. You can relax and enjoy your meal without hopping up for something every few minutes. Then when your meal is over it's just a quick monorail ride over to MK!

Will you have a car?

Depending on where you plan to go that day I'd go to Kona. I thought Boma was OK, and was not worth taking the bus system from Wilderness Lodge all the way to AKL. We did go to AK afterwards, but just not worth it. The dinner buffet at Boma is much better.

I tried both of them on my last trip... no complants! Tonga Toast was very yummy and Boma's buffet had a great variety! Either way it's win-win! :)

You guys just inspired me to book both of them next trip (we'll be staying at AKL). I looked at the menus and we'll just pay OOP for Kona. The prices are pretty comparable to IHOP or anywhere like that. THANKS OP for asking this question!
